CFMS 20/20 Vision: Linking for Success
May 1, 2020
Welcome to Clear Fork Middle School...
Here are the latest happenings in our school and our upcoming events. Please check back regularly for the most recent information.
A word from the Principal...
I cannot believe that it is May 1st already! After today there only 12 days of distance education left in the 2019-2020 school year. This year has been quite a journey for our students and staff. I am very proud of how successfully parents, students, and teachers have navigated these uncharted waters of remote learning.
I want to remind students and parents that eligibility for the fall sports season will be based off of the 4th quarter grades. That means if you want to play football, volleyball, cheer, or run cross country you will need to pass a minimum of 5 classes and pass at least 75% of your classes along with maintaining a 1.25 GPA or higher in order to participate in any CFMS sport.
Mr. Pore and I are hosting a Zoom meeting this Friday at 11am aka "Lunch with the Principals". The meeting ID will be sent out via Remind on Friday. Many students have participated in this event stating that they have enjoyed having the opportunity to socialize with their classmates.
Currently Mr. Pore and I are planning a drop off and pick up event for May 19. We are hoping to hand out spring pictures, yearbooks, and items left behind from students. We hope to collect library books, textbooks, and any other items that need to be handed back to the school at that time. Once we finish working out the details, we will share the information in Remind and grade level emails.
Keep going strong, we are almost finished with the school year!

COVID and Education...
A Word from Mr. M about Washington DC
Parents of Seventh grade Students,
We have recently put a pause on the Fall 2020 DC trip for 8th grade students. At this time we are canceling the 2020-2021 field trip all together. After talking to our company representative Louie, you will be able to receive a full refund of any funds you may have already applied to the trip. SET Tours have stated they will process refunds within the next two weeks. We will continue to look at re-scheduling options down the road as circumstances become more clear. This is hard to predict at this time. We might be able to do a combined trip of 2 grade levels in the future. We feel it would be important to make all efforts to be sure all students have an opportunity for this trip, so we will continue to look at options. The Administration and myself are personally sorry, but we do think this is the best option for now.
Sincerely,
Mr. Michalovich
