Notes from the Nurse
Happy June Heath Brook Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, please remember to stop by the Health office to pick up any of your child's medication. Any medication not picked up at the end of the school year will be discarded. Please be on the lookout for medication forms for next school year in your mailbox mid June and have them filled out closest to the start of next school year. * Just a kind reminder, the last day of school is a half day. Please plan accordingly when picking up your child’s medication.
Warmer Weather
As we spend more time outdoors please remember to send your child in with an extra water bottle or they may refill there water bottles at the water bottle filling station.
Just a friendly reminder, if your child has borrowed any clothes, to please return them before the school year ends.
I look forward to seeing you in the fall and for those moving up to the Center Elementary good luck! Have a wonderful and safe summer.
Mrs. Rossi
Happy Almost Summer!
The Massachusetts Center for the Book and the Massachusetts School Library Association are sponsoring a reading program that starts this month. Each month you and your child are challenged to read a book that falls under a different category. In June you should find a book set in a country you’d like to visit. If you’d like to take part, you can find out more here. When we return in the fall, I will make books available to your students for them to read within the month’s theme.
We had a wonderful end of the year. Kindergarten spent a couple weeks exploring fairy tales, both classic and updated. We also celebrated National Say Something Nice Day by writing notes to members of our school community who help us.
First grade has been studying mythological sea creatures and comparing them to the real life animals that inspired them. They worked on a research project about a sea animal of their choosing. We also celebrated Jewish American Heritage Month in May by reading a book that featured European Jewish immigrants in the early 20th century.
Please remember to have your child bring their books back to school if they haven’t yet. Thank you!
See you in September!
