Work in Power Zones
Fundamental 5
Where are the Power Zones?
In the typical classroom there are three locations where a teacher can conduct his or her class. In order of effectiveness those areas are: The teacher work area (desk), The lecture area (front or side of classroom), power areas (close proximity to high need students or student groups). By teaching in the power areas proximity to students reduces off task behaviors and academic dishonesty, it also increases student participation and retention of content.
