Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence

Dear Parents and Students,

On November 11th, we celebrated Veterans Day by honoring several special guests, and our students heard a great message from a Wounded Warrior, Scott Palomino. Scott's message to our kids was to always keep moving forward no matter the challenges we face. As always, I was so proud of our students for the respect they showed our guests. The Band, Choir, and Red Jackets enhanced the overall experience and made the day even more special. We are blessed to have such great kids and students.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you,

Conrad Streeter

How have you been able to apply your learning at CHHS to have a real world impact?

I have had the opportunity to attend Ms. Ponder's Principles of Business, Marketing and Finance class this semester, and I have loved every day of it. She teaches us how to take the things we've learned in class and use them in the business world. She gave us the assignment to design a product, and I was inspired to take it a step further and make a prototype. I am currently working on a patent for my idea, and I already have investors waiting to jump on board. I've always known that owning my own business was something that I have wanted to do, but I never had the knowledge or courage to start. I'll always be grateful for the things that I'm continuously learning at CHHS, and I'm glad that I pay attention to the lessons my teachers provide.

This is only parent hours, not students’ Community Scholar hours (see CSAP program guidelines on the Counseling website about that). Submit your hours in 2 minutes at this link.

How to go to college without going broke

Doug Bryan of Ducerus College Planning will be presenting his popular workshop in the band hall just for us on Tuesday, December 1st at 7:00pm, and for every band parent that attends, he will donate $25.00 to the band program!!

We have families in the band who use Ducerus and can attest to how much money it has saved them; how much stress it has relieved when thinking about how to pay for college; and how much pressure has been taken off the students because they help with the application process every step of the way! You will hear their great testimonials, and Doug will completely change your way of thinking about how to pay for college.

It's never too early to start thinking about this, so Freshman, Sophomore and Junior families are strongly encouraged to attend!! If you have non-band friends and family who want to attend, please invite them! CHHS Band will get $25.00 for every parent that is there!

Please join PTSA and our Counseling Office by making the holidays a little brighter for families in our local communities served by GRACE. You can choose a tag off of the Angel Tree in the Counseling Office and return it with your gift, or use the Sign-Up Genius link here to select items. Many thanks in advance for your sharing and caring.
