Coyote Howler

December 8, 2020

Dear Kincaid Families,

December is one of my favorite times of year. My wish is that each of you find joy in the good things the holiday season brings and in celebrating your family traditions. Whether you are decorating the Christmas tree, hanging stockings, lighting the Menorah, or dancing to holiday music, our Kincaid staff wish you and your family peace, joy, health and happiness.

In recent weeks, many of us have been touched with knowing someone in our circle who has been sick with covid. Many families have been on quarantine and some members of our Kincaid family have been hospitalized. We want to send our well wishes to all our families who may be suffering during this time. Our school nurse and our counselor are available to provide families with resources if you are struggling with food, housing, or depression. Please reach out to Nurse Rachel or our counselor, Alisa Drake. Nurse Rachel's email is mccarthy_rachel@asdk12.org and our counselor's email is drake_alisa@asdk12.org. You can also call us at 245-5530.

I know there are lots of questions about what 3rd quarter will look like. Will we be online? Will we be face-to-face? I will be sending an update on our plans for 3rd quarter by the end of next week. I'll be reporting on what I know at that time. Because things change quickly with decisions in education, I want to make sure you are receiving the most up-to-date information before the break.

Sincerely,

Wendy Zorea, Principal

Kincaid Top Coyote

For the month of December, we would like to honor Mrs. Alward as our Kincaid Top Coyote. Mrs. Alward is a second grade teacher. She has volunteered to be the liaison for new staff members at Kincaid. She is always willing to help out a colleague.

Here is what one of her colleagues said about Mrs. Alward, "Annette is always so kind and giving. She is so quick to help in any way. It doesn't matter how busy she is, she will stop what she is doing to help others. She is the building induction liaison and I couldn't think of a better, more welcoming person to show new staff members around our building. She has been Teacher-in-Charge and is a part of the Sunshine Committee. Annette is sweet to her core and it is in her nature to give to others and put them before herself. She is definitely one of the people who is the glue who keeps our staff together."

Congratulations!
