Warrior Weekly News
A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
February 9, 2024
Greetings Warrior Families and Friends,
It was another exciting week here at MHS. Both inside and outside of our classrooms, Warriors continue to engage in an incredibly broad range of activities that help them grow into the amazing young adults we know they are capable of becoming. For example, our Student Council celebrated and recognized our school counselors for the important work they do. Our robotics team continues to work feverishly on their design and construction in preparation for the big robot reveal date. Students in our stage crew, pit orchestra, and the cast for our upcoming musical performance of Chicago have been grinding out long hours in preparation for the big shows that begin next week. And to top it off, this past Saturday, our FBLA(Future Business Leaders of America) club had their most successful Regional event ever and had 31 members advance to the State Leadership Conference! Everywhere you look, you see Warriors striving to do their best. It truly is inspiring to watch our students live like Warriors and fulfill our mission of Every Student - learning, growing… succeeding!
In case you are still looking for that perfect Valentine's Day gift for the loved one in your life, we still have tickets available for the awesome musical production of Chicago - Teen Edition. Our Warriors have been working so hard and we would love to see you at one of the shows. Shows run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and a matinee on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online HERE. We hope to see you there!
As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership in the work we do to develop Warriors. We are a great school because of the incredible community we are a part of.
Have an awesome weekend, and GO WARRIORS!

Continue the Conversation
Has your student tried alcohol? Has your student tried a vape? Did I get your attention? National statistics have shown that most students will be exposed to these opportunities at some point in their middle and high school journey. As parents, we want to believe we know how our kids will respond when a situation arises in which they may need to make a split-second decision about trying a vape or alcohol, but can you ever be too sure? The more you talk with your child about the topics of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco, the more certain you can be that they will make a choice you will be proud of. If you haven’t started this type of conversation yet with your child, please do so now and then frequently come back to it. At some point, every student will be faced with a choice that, unfortunately, we can’t predict whether or not it will be a life-changing decision. If you would like additional resources on how to approach conversations, please feel free to reach out to any member of our student services or administrative teams.

MHS Parent/Teacher Conferences~ Wednesday, February 21, 2024
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday February 21, 2024, from 3:30-7:30pm. Conferences, whether in-person or virtual, must be pre-scheduled through the "Meet the Teacher" program. We value our partnership with every student and family and hope that you have already been communicating with your student's teachers. We respectfully ask that you schedule conferences if your student is struggling and strategically focus on those classes where your student may be experiencing difficulty.
To sign up for 7-minute conference slots with your student's teacher(s), please log into Meet the Teacher , please review the Parent Guide to Scheduling Conferences. No walk-ins will be accepted. Reminder student and parent information must match Infinite Campus exactly, no nicknames. Maps of the school will be available in the Lobby of the main entrance and students will be available to assist you with directions. Please arrive about 5 minutes before your first scheduled conference to allow for travel time.
We know you care about your student's learning and want to stay involved with their progress. If you have a question for a teacher, cannot make it to the school the night of parent-teacher conferences, or are unable to schedule a conference, you can email or call teachers to set up an alternative meeting. Link to staff emails and websites are HERE.
Academic Spotlight

MHS Student Parking
Dear Warrior Families,
We have reached the point in the school year where we have sold and fulfilled the number of parking passes for students that equals the number of student parking spots we have on the high school campus. We know that it is an exciting time in a teenagers life when they get their driver's license and want to continue to provide parking for new drivers moving forward. At this time if a student were to need to purchase a parking pass, it would be for our "satellite" parking lot by the soccer field. There will be a satellite lot specific parking pass issued to the student at a reduced rate of $20, students would need to register their vehicles just as in any other case. These parking passes can be picked up in the Athletic/Activities Office and paid for through Infinite Campus.
Just as a reminder, any vehicle on campus without the appropriate parking pass may be ticketed by the City of Muskego Police Department.
Please reach out to Mr. Brenton Roberts with any questions: brenton.roberts@muskegonorway.org or 262-971-1790 ext 4502

EDUCATORS RISING
Our very own Muskego High School Educators Rising Chapter is running a book drive! In case you don’t know what Educators Rising is, it is a nationally recognized club that is for students exploring the field of education. The chapter here in Muskego leads a teacher appreciation breakfast, classroom shadowing experiences, and also competes at a State Summit in March in many different education related topics. We even had two national competitors last year!
As part of the State Summit, our club is participating in the book drive service project. You can help us by looking around your house for any gently used early childhood to middle school age books. We also accept newly purchased books.
The drive will take place from February 12th-March 1st.
This is for students and staff.
Bring book donations to the MHS Library.
We are excited to bring these books with us to the State Summit on March 6th.
Thank you for your support, MHS Educators Rising 😊
Our Educators Rising Crew celebrated National Educators Rising Week showing their excitement for the field of education with their new gear and some time to share their appreciation for a few of their MHS teachers. “There’s Power in Teaching” and we can’t wait to see the amazing things these future educators do to impact students.
