MAKING DATABASES EVEN EASIER!

This is an amazing new addition to our Gale databases that will make it even easier for students to conduct meaningful research.

You can now log in to your Google Docs account with the click of a button to import articles from Gale databases! Watch the short video below to see how.

One note of caution: articles will NOT be saved in Gale’s My Folder section for future sessions. You MUST download the articles to Google Drive in order to access them (and the highlighting and notes you took) in the future.

Using Google Drive With Your Gale Resources

CRAAP! Students are using horrible web sources...

CRAAP resources for teachers

Sometimes we all need a little reminder. If you think your students are choosing less than stellar web resources for their projects I have put the CRAAP PowerPoint and scoring sheets online for you to access.

Research guides are another great way to get students to use quality resources! Let me know if you have an upcoming project and I will create a research guide specifically for your class.

MAGAZINES @ THE LIBRARY

Mental_floss Magazine

Founded by two then Duke University sophomores, their goal was to "distill some of the best lectures from our favorite college professors. We thought if we could bottle their enthusiasm and deliver it in monthly installments, it'd be great." (wikipedia)

Known for their lists of random facts, quizzes and puzzles, the magazine is something of a "Smithsonian meets Mad Magazine" hybrid (cleveland.com).
