Food Drive
The school will participate in collecting food for the Salvation Army again this year. It is a worthy cause, which benefits many families in our area. The Salvation Army will pick up the food on Tuesday, December 3rd in the morning at MPS.
Angel Tree
The Manvel Student Council, in cooperation with the Salvation Army, is sponsoring an Angel Tree project. The project goal is to purchase gifts for needy children in our area. Here is how the program works:
· Students who wish to participate should pick up an angel in the office.
· The student purchases a gift for the age and gender represented on the angel. A gift suggestion is on the angel. (There is no set dollar amount, only what you would like to spend on the child.) Do not wrap the gift.
· The student will bring the gift to the school office, rather than the Salvation Army, as indicated on the back of the Angel.
· The student can then place their angel on the angel tree.
The Salvation Army will pick up the gifts on December 3rd in the morning!Sox for Kids
Sox for Kids is a charitable organization that collects funds to take eligible children Christmas shopping. Manvel has about 35 children that participate. Please consider donating money to this worthy cause.
You can help meet the needs of our children by...
1. Remembering to donate to Sox For Kids when you consider your charitable contributions this holiday season. It is important that the Manvel community does its part by financially supporting the program. Please send donations to Sox for Kids at Manvel School, 801 Oldham Avenue, Manvel, N.D. 58256.
2. Attending the fundraising auction on Saturday, December 7th, beginning at 6:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Reynolds, ND (see flyer below).
3. Helping us chaperone and assist children in shopping on Saturday, December 14th. We will shop from 8:00 - 10 AM with students in need at Walmart Supercenter on 32nd Ave in Grand Forks. Helping a child shop for others is a great holiday experience that fits the holiday season. We need about 30 volunteers! Contact Mrs. Nowatzki at Manvel School (696-2212) if you can help!

Congratulations to Mrs. Tunseth and the MS Choir on a great display of music at the Ecumenical Service!
Winter Clothing and Bus students
All students, especially those who ride a bus to school must-have coats, caps, mittens/gloves, and appropriate shoes/boots. This is a safety issue now that the weather is getting cold. Although the buses are warmed and ready when students board them, they cool down quickly when doors open, and if a bus should ever stall, we want the students to remain safe and comfortable.
