Houston is the most philanthropic city in the United States, having raised more than $12 billion in 2014. The majority of those funds go to the large non-profits such as health care, education and medical research. Think of it as the Pareto principle, or the 80/20 rule…80% of the funds raised went to just 20% of the total 18,000+ non-profits in Houston. This means the majority of the area’s nonprofits shares the remaining 20% of funds. With the Pareto principle in mind, Cheers 4 Charities was created to assist Houston organizations that do not historically receive as much financial support.
Each year, Cheers 4 Charities raises funds and awareness for four children’s charities, each with an annual operating budget of less than $1.2 million. Dec My Room has been selected as the beneficiaries of Cheers 4 Charities Superhero-themed event, Tuesday, November 17, 2015, from 6-10PM, at the Deborah Colton Gallery.
Would you please consider joining the Cheers 4 Charities host committee on behalf of Dec My Room? As a host committee member, you will be responsible for selling 10 tickets to the event in support of Dec My Room.
Ticket prices are $125 per person or $200 per couple.
As part of the Legion of Superheroes host committee, you are welcomed to join us at Brennan’s (3300 Smith St.) on Thursday, June 18from 6-8 PM to meet us and all the host committee members.
