Galileo Cross Country claims Dogwood District title

This week, the Galileo Girls and Boys Cross Country teams claimed Dogwood District titles. The All-District runners for the Galileo girls were Carol-Anne Garrett (Runner of the Year), Maya Herndon, Rowan Kirk, Ava Wray, and Camila Rodriguez. The All-District runners for the Galileo boys were Alex Gomez (Runner of the Year), Jackson Herndon, Jalyn Jones, Jackson Easley, and Neil Shroff. Coach Bryant, Carter, and Zavala were recognized as the Dogwood District Coaches of the Year for both boys and girls teams.

Middle School Girls Cross Country wins district championship

The Middle School Girls Cross Country team are the 2022 Jr Piedmont District Champions! Jonesha Wilkins came in first overall, and Ivy Hughes-Groskopf came in fourth overall. In addition, our middle school boys team placed second.

Middle School Football earns Piedmont District title

On Wednesday, our Middle School Football team claimed the title of Junior Piedmont District Football Champions after having an UNDEFEATED season.

GW Junior Varsity Football clinches Piedmont District Championship

Last night, GW JV Football defeated Magna Vista to win the Piedmont District Championship after an UNDEFEATED season.

The I.W. Taylor Virtual Academy kicked off a (partial) Spirit Week on Wednesday with a Pink Day for Breast Cancer Awareness. Look at our virtual students in their pink!

DPD hosting a Youth Talent Show

On November 18, the Danville Police Department will be hosting a Youth Talent Show. Tryouts will be held on November 1, 2022 at 3 p.m. at 2291 Memorial Drive. For more information, call Officer Milan-Carter at (434) 797-8878 ext. 3.

Pass the Perspective with the Danville Police Department

The Danville Police Department is hosting Pass the Perspective on November 8, 2022, at 5 p.m. This program is designed for our middle school youth to gain the inside perspective on police work as well as openly share their thoughts on police officers and ways we can better serve the community and our youth. Also, the students will be able to participate in MILO (an interactive video training system) to go through the actual process our police officers utilize during their training.
