VEX Robotics Tournament at Montgomery High School Jan 28, 2017

On January 28, Montgomery High School hosted San Diego Regional VEX Robotics Tournament. An event that brought VEX teams from all over California; Studio City, Murrieta, Santa Ana, Walnut, Lake Elsinore, Cypress, San Diego, and Chula Vista.

Eastlake Middle School CyberPatriot Team -Update-

"While Eastlake Middle has participated in the Mayor’s Cup Cyber Security competition for the past five years, this is the first year that we tried Cyber Patriots. I am pleased to announce that out of 463 middle school teams nationwide, when combining three qualification rounds, Eastlake Middle School’s three cyber teams finished 98th, 104th, and 139th, qualifying for the semifinal round on Friday, February 3. We are looking forward to continued success in this program in the years to come"

"The Things Sweetwater Students will MAKE"

Sweetwater Union HSD has partnered with The MakerPlace to bring the MAKER MOVEMENT to our students. 15 students from Sweetwater High School will work in teams to design, prototype, and MAKE their own project. They will have access to The MakerPlace facilities, equipment, and maker experts (electronics lab, 3D printing, wood shop, metal shop, craft soft, laser lab, & paint shop) for six consecutive sessions.

Math Field Day is an annual district middle and junior high school math event. More than a competition it is a math celebration of games & fun to promote interest in mathematics and STEM fields. Go Math!

Association for Women in Science (AWIS) San Diego is hosting a STEM Conference on February 4th from 8am to 5pm at SDSU for young women (high schools & undergraduate) interested in learning more about finding a path to STEM career.

UCSD ENLACE Program

ENLACE is a summer bi-national program with participation from Baja California students and Hispanic students from San Diego county. Students are organized in pairs (one from each side of the border). They work together in research laboratories in the areas of Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, and the Biological Sciences across UCSD.
