Our Week at Reutter School
Week of February 13, 2023
School Principal's Message
Reutter School Families:
Today, in accordance with state law, our school conducted a security drill in the manner that we conduct all emergency drills, with seriousness and with sensitivity to our students and staff. Everyone responded appropriately and instruction resumed immediately thereafter. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
On Wednesday, our fifth grade students reached an incredible milestone of their educational Journey - their 1,000 day of school since the start of Kindergarten. Students entered the school with fanfare and decorations prepared by our fifth grade teachers. Special 1,000 Day Themed events and instructional components were also embedded into this special day.
As we celebrate the 1,000th day of school for our fifth graders, I would like to congratulate you for your part in this amazing accomplishment. Your dedication to your children's education has been the cornerstone of their success.
Your children have been through a lot of changes over the past five years. They have grown from being curious little kindergarteners to confident fifth graders. Your unwavering support has been a major factor in their development.
Please continue to encourage your children as we enter the final stretch of their elementary school experience. They will face new challenges and opportunities in the coming months, and your support will be invaluable in helping them face these with confidence.
Thank you for your commitment to your children and to their education.
Looking forward, Random Acts of Kindness Week is quickly approaching, and I'm so excited to see how our students use this week to spread kindness and joy. Our school will be celebrating this occasion from February 13-16.
Random Acts of Kindness Week is a special celebration that encourages everyone to be kind to one another. We are encouraging our students to look for ways to be kind at school, at home, and in the community.
Next week, your children will have an amazing opportunity to show kindness to others. We hope that they will take this opportunity to engage in Random Acts of Kindness, from helping a friend in need to performing small gestures that show appreciation for someone. No act is too small for this week. Mrs. Roberts will be working in conjunction with the CLR Administration, Teachers, and Support Staff to recognize students who have demonstrated a Random Act of Kindness. The entire school district will also be promoting Random Acts of Kindness through a special spirit week, which has been listed further below in the weekly update.
I'm confident that our students will take this time to show kindness and appreciation for one another and that our school community will be filled with love and generosity.
Go Eagles!
Educationally Yours,
Mr. Peters
Principal

A Look At This Past Week...
The "Decimal Diner"
Mrs. Rambone’s 5th grade Math classes at Caroline L. Reutter School recently visited the “Decimal Diner.” The students, dressed as business professionals, put their skills of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals to the test in a real world experience. The classroom was decorated to look like a candlelit restaurant, and the students enjoyed treats and listened to soft music while they calculated their share of the “bill”. The students had such fun!

Learning How to Multiply with Fractions
Students in Ms. Burkhardt's Fifth Grade Math Classes practiced determining how to multiply a whole number by a fraction with their peers.
Congratulations to our new, fifth grade student council representatives.
