Mrs. Rhodes' Newsletter

Week of Monday, November 4th

This Week in Room 508:

We will continue to watch our pumpkin decompose, we have also planted pumpkin seeds and will see if we can get a sprout to grow!

Writer's Workshop: Students will learn strategies to find words they already know how to spell. This will save time in our writing process so we are not sounding out every word. Some words we can write quickly by checking the word wall. Some words we can write quickly by checking our ABC link chart.
Students will also be focusing on adding spaces between their words.

Reader's Workshop: Students will learn to make text to text connections. Connecting one story they are reading or listening to, to another story they have heard before.

Report Cards

This Friday is the end of the 2nd six weeks. Report cards will go home next Wednesday, November 13th. If you have any questions about the report card, please do not hesitate to ask!

Early Release Day

Next Wednesday, November 13th is an early release day, the students will be dismissed at 12:45pm.

Turkey Projects

On Friday the Kindergarten team sent home two turkey projects. The turkey feather will be used to create a giant turkey in our hallway with all of the Kindergarten students' feathers. The turkey feather is due Monday, November 11th. The turkey disguise is meant to get your child thinking creatively! Let them come up with the idea of how to disguise the turkey and make a plan on how they can color it or cover it. The turkey disguise will be due on Friday, November 15th.

We are running low on hand sanitizer, if you are able to donate any to our classroom it would be much appreciated, thank you!!
