The Athletic Department would like to wish Holiday Wishes to the entire Seekonk community and to personally thank the Seekonk Boosters Club and the Seekonk Grid Iron Club for all their dedication and hard work this year.
Congratulations to Seekonk Senior student-athlete Emily Balasco who has just signed a letter of intent to attend Division Two Southern Connecticut State University and to compete on their gymnastics team next year.
The Seekonk/Dighton-Rehoboth coop Ice Hockey team registered their first win of the young season Wednesday night defeating Apponequet High School 3-0 at Driscoll Ice Rink in Fall River. Seekonk Senior Dan Loiselle registered the shutout and Seekonk Sophomore Ben Lunnie scored one of the goals with assists from Seekonk Junior Luke Robitaille and Seekonk Senior Brennan Dunphy.
Both Seekonk High School Basketball teams are off to very impressive starts this season. The Girls team presently sits at 3 wins and 1 loss while the Boys have compiled a 2 win and 1 loss record. Don’t miss out on the action during this Christmas break. The Boys will host Fairhaven High School Tuesday, December 27 with the Freshmen game at 3:30, the Junior Varsity game at 5 PM, and the Varsity game tipping off at 6:30. The Girls will be hosting Bourne High School Friday, December 30 with the Junior Varsity game going off at 5 PM and the Varsity game tipping at 6:30.
And speaking of Seekonk Basketball, one of the big stories in this early season is the play of Freshman guard Mia DiBiase who has scored over twenty points in each of the Lady Warriors’ first four games.
The Seekonk Boys and Girls Swim teams have gotten off to a great start this season most recently registering a big home win Thursday afternoon over Martha’s Vineyard High School. Maddie Paine, Lauren Shanahan, Andrew Silveira, Troy Pina, and Freshmen Abby Tenreiro, Blake Anderson and Robert Strycharz have posted outstanding early season times.
