Hello FUSD Staff and Community,

During a season of gratitude, I offer you my heartfelt appreciation for your continued support of our students and staff. We have a wonderful community that I am grateful to serve.

FUSD will have limited staffing and availability on November 21 & 22, which are non-school days for students. All FUSD schools and offices will be closed November 23-25 for Thanksgiving. We will reopen on November 28.

As we continue to do our best to limit the spread of diseases, please remember to complete the daily health screener before students enter campus, and keep students home when they are ill. The cold, flu and other viruses are circulating in our community, and it remains important to test for COVID-19 when symptoms are present. I appreciate the sustained effort by our families to protect each other’s health.

I hope the coming days and weeks bring each of you an opportunity to rest and enjoy time with your loved ones.

At-Home COVID-19 Test Kits

FUSD is participating in a state program to provide free at-home test kits to each preK-12 student (ages 2+) and staff member to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The kits have been, or will be, distributed directly through students’ school sites and employees’ work locations.

Participation in this program is optional. FUSD will not require proof of a negative test for students or staff. However, students or staff with a positive test result, any COVID-19 symptoms, and/or a known exposure to someone with COVID-19 must follow the student flowchart or staff flowchart before returning to campus.

COVID Notifications

FUSD is continuing to provide group contact notices to parents/guardians when the District is informed that individuals in a student’s class or other group tested positive for or were diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 10 days, and were present at a District facility or event during their infectious period.

If you receive a notice, please read it for testing timelines and additional information.

Save the Date: FUSD’s State of the District

Please save the date for a State of the District presentation by Superintendent CJ Cammack on January 18, 2023 from 6-7pm.

More information and virtual access will be shared at www.fremont.k12.ca.us/series as available.
