Fraction Action
Parts of Wholes
What is a FRACTION?
Fractions are the symbols we use to describe a part of a whole. For example, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, and 4/6 are fractions. The top number is called the NUMERATOR. It shows the part of a region or set that is being discussed. The bottom number is called the DENOMINATOR. It shows the total part of a region of set that is being discussed.
