4AB Math Class
With Ms. Ramsey 03-17-17
Dear families,
We had 2 fun holidays to celebrate this week. Pi day was a blast! Thanks to Blake's mom for donating a Pi day cookie cake for us to learn with and eat :) I absolutely loved the turn out of the Pi Day Hats. The jokes were my favorite part! Today we got to learn some fun math topics by celebrating St. Patrick's Day!
This week we took a small quiz on angles. Most students did very well, but I did notice students are making the same 2 major errors I mentioned from last week's newsletter:
1) Classifying an angle as acute or obtuse angles, then using the protractor and writing the wrong angle measure.
2) Naming angles incorrectly (the vertex should always be the middle letter)
Or they didn't read the directions and missed points due to carelessness. We will continue working on these skills alongside to constructing parallel lines, perpendicular lines, and understanding shape attributes. Please check your child's take home folder for our St. Patrick's day activities and their quiz. As always, email me with any comments, questions, or concerns!
All my love,
Ms. Ramsey
