Book Review

This book is about a family who lives in Flint, Michigan. Its mid winter and they are at record low temperatures. But in Alabama there temperatures are in the mid seventies and Momma is thinking about taking the family down to Burmingham, Alabama so she can show the kids how she grew up. But Dad is not eilling to go down there because of segregation and racism.Wilona "Momma" Watson is from Burmingham, Alabama and Dainel Watson is from Flint, Michigan.

Daniel turned on the TV and it said " Atlanta Georgia is in the mid seventies." Momma said " That is only 150 miles from home!" So the Watsons end up going to Burmingham and have a great time but they run into one of the most horrific segregated attacks in history. Hope I encourage you to read The Watsons Go to Burmingham - 1963.
