PCMS WEEKLY UPDATE
October 23, 2020
Good Afternoon PCMS Families,
Today marks the end of the weirdest 1st Quarter of school that I’ve ever been a part of! As strange as it’s been, we’re making it the best we can. Report cards will be emailed home next Friday, so be on the lookout for those and Parent-Teacher Conferences are November 4-5. This year we’re conducting them virtually instead of in-person. Below are the details for signing up. This week’s CharacterDare was the Kindness Door, where students were challenged to simply look behind to see if there’s an opportunity to help others by holding doors for anyone coming behind them.... good stuff right there! See some of this in action in the pics below.😊
Stay warm this weekend and GO PIRATES!!!
FALL PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
PCMS will be conducting our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences virtually this year instead of our typical in-person format. Conferences are Wed, Nov 4 from 3:30-7:30pm and Thurs, Nov 5 from 3:30-7pm and will be conducted via Google Meets.
To meet with your child's teachers, you can use your smartphone, tablet, or computer. If none of these is an option for your family, we can also schedule a phone call conference. Please sign up with the teachers you would like to meet with by clicking here. If you have any questions regarding conference sign-ups, please contact your child's teacher(s) or call our office.
In-person Learners in Grades 6-8: Return to Full In-Person ~ Declare by End of Today!
The Board of Education has approved a plan to phase into full in-person learning from the alternating schedule scenario at the secondary level. Pending Platte County Health Department approval, the plan allows for in-person students in grades 6-8 to return to daily in-person instruction starting Nov 30. Please note, with this change, there is increased possibility of student quarantine due to the increased number of students per classroom and limited ability for complete 6-foot physical distancing.
Please indicate if this information has changed your preferred learning scenario for your child, via the e-Form found on Parent Portal, linked here, by the end of today, Fri, Oct 23. If we do not hear from you by the end of today, we will plan for your child to attend full in-person learning.
If you need assistance, please contact us at 816-858-2036.
