The MPG Ranch Golden Eagle Challenge will open on January 27th and will continue through March. Teachers participating can use the Challenge materials any time that fits with their curriculum and meets the needs of learners.

Elementary school students study the natural history of Golden Eagles, habitat, and migration then write a travel journal from the Golden Eagle's point of view. Science standards and informational writing standards.

Middle school students dig into data and information about the hazards facing Golden Eagles and other migratory birds. Why are the Golden Eagle populations declining? Students will then construct a game prototype to bring awareness to these issues for a chosen audience. Science standards, science communication, and creative thinking.

High school students examine the complex world of wildlife management and policy as it relates to policy. How can groups work together to protect migrating birds and maintain viability? Students will then develop a communication product for a real-world audience. Science standards, science communication, and government policy.
