Hyatt Times - October and November
Learning. Creating. Succeeding.
Thank you for helping make the start of our year so successful and memorable. As part of our commitment to keep you informed this is our newsletter for the months of October and November. You will find calendar reminders, resources to support your knowledge of programs we are providing, and additional links to community sources through the GISD's Family Flyer. We are committed to supporting your child's academic and social emotional growth. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or our office for assistance.

Halloween Events
- The children may wear their costumes to school. This is a family decision, but keep in mind all Halloween activities will take place in the afternoon. The children are not to wear their Halloween Masks at school, save those for Sunday! Please remember, look-a-like weapons are not allowed.
- 1:30 If a child does not wear their costume, they can bring it to school and put it on.
- 1:45 Hyatt classes will begin walking down the sidewalk towards Linden Elementary. Linden Elementary will join the parade after Hyatt. Together, they will walk on the sidewalk to parade their costumes for the residents of Caretel Inns. The classes will then make their way back to their school building.
- Parents are free to walk with their child during the costume parade and to take their child's picture.
- Once the classes return to their school, ONLY the children will return to the classrooms for their activities. If you elect to check your child out early, you must inform the office first.
- Classroom treats are to be store bought. Your child's teacher may have suggestions or treats to avoid due to food allergies.
Socktober is Back!
Clara’s Hope, a 501(c)(3), is excited to be sponsoring SOCKTOBER 2021. As you may know, all Socktober donations are used to create first night foster care bags for kids entering foster care in Genesee & Livingston Counties. Many children do not have what they need to spend the night and creating a bag that has all needed items reduces stress for everyone. For the entire month of October, we are collecting the following items in sizes Newborn through 4XL for boys and girls.
- Packages of Socks
- Packages of Underwear
- Pajamas
- Target or Walmart gift cards
- Cash Donations
- Pull Ups, larger sizes
These donations will allow us to complete over 300 bags. Your help in collecting these donations helps kids know they are thought of, valued, loved and important. Thank you for making a difference in our community.
