Another record-setting show for all of the students, with a grand total of over $387,000. The previous record was $259,000.
Facts Every Voter Should Know
MISD called for a $232 million bond for the November ballot. The bond is to address the growth happening in Magnolia. If the bond passes, the new elementary school in Audubon will open in August 2024, and the new intermediate and junior high schools will open in August 2025.

85% of the bond is for student seat space.
The bond would allow to keep classroom sizes small and provide more program opportunities for students with a $0 tax impact to taxpayers.
MISD received $150,000 from the state for safety & security. MISD dedicates $1.5 million to safety & security.
Growth is happening now. Since October 2021, MISD has added 16 new bus routes due to the growth.
The 86th Texas Legislative session (2019), amended Texas Education Code 45.003 to require "THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE." on the ballot. This is mandatory to include on all school bond propositions. There is $0 tax impact on the taxpayer.
Did you know the Ag and 4H students had a record year with over $387,000 raised? The ag renovations will allow for more animal pins, restrooms, concessions, and technology upgrades.
A portion of the bond is dedicated to upgrading technology equipment to provide better network access for classroom instruction and State required online testing.
MISD maintains 2.4 million square feet of space with an operating budget of appx. $6.2 mil, of which utility costs are approx. $3.5 mil. After recurring expenses, there is approximately $1.5 mil for yearly capital projects.
Early Voting Begins October 24
This is a reminder that early voting begins on Monday, October 24th, and runs to Friday, November 4th, while Election Day is Tuesday, November 8th.
During the early voting period, any qualified Montgomery County registered voter may vote at any of the Montgomery County early voting locations.
