A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL
Greetings Parents!
As we finish the year strong with high expectations for our students academically and behaviorally, we ask that you continue to support our efforts by reinforcing the importance of walking and talking , walking on the right, taking the shortest route to class and arriving to class on time. Also, it is very important that students remain in class to receive instruction and not abuse passes to roam around the building. We will be conducting more frequent tardy sweeps and assigning consequences for students who are not meeting expectations.
If your child is receiving an award, you have been sent an email with the date and time of the ceremony. We hope you that you will join us as we celebrate your child.
Thank you in advance for your support.

6th Grade Parents- Tdap and Meningococcal Conjugate (MCV4) vaccines due before beginning 7th grade.
Parents of 6th Grade Students,
The State of Texas requires that students receive the Tdap and Meningococcal Conjugate (MCV4) vaccines after the age of 11 and before beginning 7th grade. If your student has already had the vaccines, please submit the record to the school clinic. If your student has not yet received these vaccines, please have them administered as soon as possible and then provide the record to the clinic.
The end of the school year will be here before we know it. Since the clinic is not in operation during summer, the records are needed by May 19, 2023 in order for the information to be updated in our database.
Please submit records via email: edith.bryanthayes@fortbendisd.com or clinic.loms@fortbendisd.com or via fax: 281-634-3579 or 281-327-3532.
If you have questions or concerns or would like to confirm that we already have an up-to-date record, please contact the clinic.
Be Well,
Edith Bryant-Hayes, BSN, RN

Be A Champion Program
AM/PM Car Rider and Walkers
Thank you for your patience the first week of school with transportation as we ensure a safe and smooth arrival and dismissal.
Just a few friendly reminders for all parents of students who are not bus riders.
- All car drop off and pick-ups must happen along the curb in the front of the school. Parents are restricted from parking in the staff parking lot or on the bus transportation lot next door.
- Students are not allowed to walk off campus to meet up with anyone in a car to ride home.
- Students walking home should only cross at the crosswalk near the marquee.
AM Drop Off:
- There should be no parked cars along the curb in front of the school at any time.
- All parents waiting in their car to drop off their students after the doors open at 8:25 am should form a line of parked cars and wait on the drive along the entrance before making the curve. This is to ensure the safety of those students who are outside prior to the campus being open for the day.
- Parents dropping of their students prior to 8:25 can proceed in the left lane around the curve towards the front of the school to do so.
- At 8:25 am, all cars that have been waiting can begin the processional towards the front of the school and drop off your students.
Cell Phone Guidelines
LOMS will strictly enforce the FBISD technology guidelines for electronic device usage.
- Safety is our #1 priority and goal!
- No cell phones, earbuds, music devices, etc. shall be used unless for instructional purposes with teacher approval and supervision.
- Students will be able to use their cell phones during lunch in the cafeteria only
- One earbud is required for music or videos
Consequences:
- First and Second Violation-phone is confiscated and returned at the end of the day
- Refusal to turn in device counts as a violation.
- Third and Subsequent Violations-$15 fee and parent pickup
With this and any other concern you may have, please do not hesitate to contact your child's grade level administrator. We welcome your feedback, opinions, and assistance.
Dismissal Procedures Update-10/17
We need your support in ensuring the safety of all students and staff during dismissal.
Effective Monday, October 17, students who do not adhere to the expectations by leaving class prior to their bus number being called for dismissal will be sent to the front of the school to make a call home to be picked up and will not be able to ride home on their bus for that day.
Our current dismissal follows for a staggered release system for car and bus riders. However, we are experiencing a large number of students who are not adhering to our procedures and leaving their classrooms prior to being released. This causes overcrowded hallways and more students in common areas and outside on the bus ramp. When this happens, it impedes on our ability to complete a timely release of our first run buses and delays your child getting home. Our goal is to ensure the bus ramp is clear of students, ensuring it is safe for buses to depart.
Please feel free to email me at Courtney.clark@fortbendisd.com if you have any questions about our dismissal procedures and expectations.
Student IDs are coming soon!
- Every student will wear a badge during school hours (with the exception of rigorous physical exercise, like PE class or Athletics)
- Students will use the badge to scan in the cafeteria and library
Here are some quick tips and FYI's.
Students who lose their badge will be offered temporary identification. If the old badge cannot be located replacement fees may be required.
MISPLACED/LOST BADGE
1st-3rd Offense = Student given temporary wristband
4th Offense = Recorded as discipline referral in Skyward; Parent contact; Student pays $5 for new printed badge
5th Offense and Beyond = Recorded as discipline referral in Skyward; one hour detention added for each subsequent offense; Parent contact; Student pays $5 for new printed badge
- Wearing an ID badge is an added safety measure to help easily identify anyone who should not be in the building. Students will also need their ID badges for campus events.
Lunch Safety
You are more than welcome to bring food to school for your child. LOMS lunch drop off procedures can be found below.
However, out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of students and staff, Doordash, Uber Eats, and food deliveries by third parties are prohibited. We cannot allow students to go out to meet delivery drivers and by allowing them in the building they do not stop to check in to be identified. We also do not know what they could be delivering.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Being on time is important!
Take a Look!
