APRIL IS NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Throughout the month we will be highlighting awareness of Child Abuse Prevention through a variety of activities. One way families can get involved is by donating $1 per child, or amount of your choosing, to our "Pinwheel Campaign." The school has a pinwheel for each child in the classroom and they will be "planting" the pinwheels outside of their buildings at a later date to make a "pinwheel garden." 100% of the money donated for pinwheels will go towards CAPA, a local child abuse prevention center. You can find more information on CAPA at www.capacares.org. There will also be additional pinwheels available for donations in the school lobby for visitors to plant while they are at school. Child abuse is a nationwide epidemic that affects families of all backgrounds. Help us bring awareness to this cause while helping a local organization in their quest to end this epidemic.
Matt and Molly
Our Matt and Molly this week will be Catch that Rabbit. Loveable Matt and Molly stories make social skills “stick” with familiar characters, predictable routines, and concrete behaviors. With Matt and Molly students learn the right and wrong ways to act at school, at home, with relatives, with other children, and in the community. The Matt and Molly stories target skills in sequencing, predicting, question-answering, and processing verbal information.
