Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence
5.20.16
Dear Parents and Students,
Let me begin by saying thank you for the encouraging emails and notes that I have received throughout the week regarding my new position within the district. The past three years have been the most rewarding in my professional career. I am so grateful that I was able to lead CHHS and to witness so many accomplishments by our amazing students. This will be my last entry in the Panther Pause as the principal, and it is a bitter sweet moment. I want to thank our students and staff for demonstrating EXCELLENCE in and out of the classroom. I want to thank all of our parents for being partners in educating your most prized possession, and I want to thank the PTSA for their constant and unwavering support during my tenure. We have the BEST kids in all of Texas, and I am honored to be part of the legacy and traditions that define CHHS.
I look forward to celebrating our seniors on June 2nd, and know that I will always be a Panther!

This week at CHHS, we are celebrating #GCISDDecisionWk. As a senior at CHHS, where will you be attending college and why?
This fall I will be attending the University of Notre Dame. The summer before my senior year, I went on a lot of college visits: UT, Northwestern, Duke, UCLA, and Notre Dame to name a few. Going into the Notre Dame visit, I didn't know what to expect; my knowledge of the university was pretty much limited to their football team. Leaving the visit, I was most impressed. The academics, the athletics, and the faith-based community all impressed me. These factors, coupled with the fact that Notre Dame has a highly ranked business program, and my field of interest, made my decision very easy when I was accepted in December. I can't wait to be in South Bend, Indiana, and believe it or not, it's not because of the temperate climate.

a Note from the nurse
As Spring has sprung, our honeybee population has also reappeared. The bees do enjoy visiting campus for the clover that grows on the grounds. Spring will also bring out wasps and other such stinging insects. With this observation, I am compelled to encourage parents of students that have a known and serious allergy to stings to make sure your student does have an Epinephrine Auto Injector available. Permission forms are found in the nurse’s office and on my website. Student’s are encouraged to carry their own injectors with the appropriate forms. These may also be kept in the clinic. I have posted stinging insect information on my website. Please contact me for any questions! (817) 305-4722
