Digital Citizenship
Students in K-6 are learning about digital citizenship with Andrew McPhillips (school counselor) and/or Kate Freeland (school librarian). Commonly defined as using the Internet safely, responsibly and respectfully, our digital citizenship discussions will include internet safety, digital footprints, giving credit for borrowed information and kindness and respect in online interactions.
If you'd like to learn more, Common Sense Media (https://www.commonsensemedia.org/) offers free subscriptions for parents and educators and is a great source of information.
Bean Supper Saturday, May 13th
We are still looking for people to fill in some open slots...please take a look...
Did you know that it takes more than 50 people to organize and run one bean supper? On the day of the supper there four grillers out in the yard, giving that smoky taste to the hotdogs and kielbasa that accompany the baked beans, as well as 10 workers in the dining room (wait staff consists mainly of each year’s 6th grade class at Albert Bridge), 14 kitchen workers, a hostess, a facilitator and a ticket seller, It takes 25 bakers to make those home-made pies and quick breads that are part of our tradition, not to mention 6 salad makers to boil pounds of potatoes, dozens of eggs, and to slice and dice all the vegetables. Five bean makers slow cook the baked beans according to traditional recipes, with the addition of a vegetarian option that began in 2017.
Please take a look at our needs below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you! Questions? Contact beansuppers@gmail.com
