Bayridge Bulletin: Weekly Update
December 8, 2023
Dear Bayridge Families - a final note from Ms. Witley
It has been my pleasure to be the Principal of Bayridge Public School for the past two and a half years. Working with Ms. Swan and the entire staff, I feel that we created a strong vision of what we wanted our school to feel like and what we needed to do to keep our students achieving. Our motto of Be You, Belong, Believe, Be a Bear has been our anchor and will hopefully continue to guide positive things for our school moving forward.
Special thanks to our School Council who deserves recognition for all of the extra time making Bear bags, shopping for board games, running canteens and preparing for movie nights. These people make our school a better place and I encourage more parents to get involved in School Council.
Thank you to our parents and families for their support over the past few years. Parents are an important part of student success and we are grateful that you share your kids with us each day.
Our staff have been working incredibly hard to keep up with the many changes in education. They are committed to using evidence based practices so that all students can succeed. We have accomplished so much together and that is something to be proud of. Bayridge is lucky to have each of you!
Lastly, to our amazing students. You made me smile everyday. I will miss each one of you - your hugs, seeing your learning, listening to you read and watching you grow. Keep doing great things, Bears!
You will be well taken care of with Ms. Swan and Mr. Allison. Mr. Allison is a retired Principal and has filled in many times at Bayridge -- the kids love him! At the end of term 1, a new Principal will move to Bayridge.
Thank you for a wonderful 2 years. I am so grateful to have played a small part in the many accomplishments in Bayridge Public School's history.
Sincerely,
Kelly Witley
Other Items:
We are in need of a lunch supervisor everyday from 10:45-1:45 - you must have a current CPIC for this role. Please contact the school if you are interested in this job.
If your family is struggling this Holiday season, please reach out to the school and we will do our best to offer support.
Holiday Shop is BACK!
Hello Bayridge Families!!
School Council is thrilled to be gearing up for our annual Holiday Shop, where our amazing students get to select a gift for a family member and have it wrapped and ready to go for their holiday celebrations!
Holiday Shop will take place on December 20th during the day. All classes will have time to come to the library and "shop". There is no fee for shopping, students are limited to one gift unless we have great excess.
We will be collecting donations of giftable items at the school between December 13th and 19th for the Holiday Shop. If you're doing some organizing or purging, please keep us in mind!
Ideas for gift donations can include (but are not limited to): toys, candles, holiday decor, knick knacks, costume jewelry, mugs, key chains, games, puzzles, multi tools (nothing with knives please) and anything else that you think would make a lovely gift! Wrapping materials (especially bags, tissue and tags) would be greatly appreciated as well!!
Thank you for helping to keep this fun tradition going! Please do not drop donations off to the school until December 13th as there is limited storage space.
Please contact Meg Redmond at megcarrharris@hotmail.com if you have any questions or if you have donations but are not able to make it to the school to drop off.
Wishing you all the best this Holiday season!
