Message from Mr. Daniel Finkle
All students will be taking the PARCC during the first week in April. The schedule is as follows:
April 3 - Math Parts 1 and 2
April 4 - Math Part 3
April 5 - ELA Part 1
April 6 - ELA Parts 2 and 3
Makeup tests will take place beginning Monday, April 10th and ending on Thursday, April 13th.
On the days of testing, should your child not have either ELA9, 10 or 11, or Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II, there will be a two-hour delayed opening. The buses will run 2-hours later than the normal pick-up.
Congrats Teen Arts Winners
Teen Excellence Award
Are you an adult who knows a high school aged teenager deserving of special recognition? We invite you to become a nominator for the Burlington County Times Teen Excellence Awards. The county’s most outstanding teens will be chosen based upon community service, academic efforts and, when applicable, demonstration of overcoming an obstacle. Winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony, in the pages of the BCT and on our web site. This program is open to all county high school students, grades 11 and 12. The deadline is Friday, March 24th! To nominate a deserving students, please complete the nominate form.
Scheduling Change Waiver Deadline
Just a reminder that if you and your child wish to change any of the academic recommendations and take a higher level course, a Scheduling Waiver Form must be completed and submitted to Mrs. Kitty Newman, Guidance Secretary. The deadline for waiver forms is March 29, 2017. There are no exceptions for late waivers. We urge all of you to read the Program of Studies especially the first 17 pages as they contain a tremendous amount of helpful information.
Academic Awards Night & Scholarship Night
This year, we will honor our outstanding academic and athletic seniors and underclassmen in two separate evening ceremonies. On Wednesday, April 26th, at the Academic Awards Night, we will honor seniors and underclassmen for their academic achievements. Winners will be chosen based on their grades from the first, second and third marking periods. We will also recognize seniors and underclassmen for the #1 Club award for their work with activity clubs. Senior and underclassmen athletic #1 Club winners will be recognized for fall and winter sports only. Invitations will go out in early April for the April 26th ceremony.
At the Senior Scholarship Night on Thursday, June 1st, we will honor seniors who earned Principal’s Award, #1 Club for spring sports and seniors receiving scholarships. Underclassmen will also be recognized for the #1 Club award for spring sports.
Athletic News
Congratulations to Phillip Rogers who was named Burlington County Wrestler of the Year.
Congratulations to Quamir Davis who was named to the 3rd Team All-County Basketball Team.
Opening day for the boys’ and girls’ Lacrosse teams is Wednesday, March 29th. The Lady Bears will travel to Ocean City, and the boys will host Middle Township.

2017 Freshman-Sophomore Formal
The 2017 Freshman-Sophomore Formal will be held on Saturday, April 8th from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the DHS Gymnasium.
A Freshman-Sophomore Formal Promise Form can be picked up in the Main Office or at the Late Sign-in Desk. Every student must submit a signed promise form when purchasing their ticket. Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday, March 29th until Wednesday, April 5th during lunch periods. The cost is $20.00 per ticket.
Homecoming Video
The Homecoming DVD will be available for students to purchase during lunch periods starting Monday, March 27th. The price is $15.00, and checks must be made payable to DHS Special Funds.

Alumni Walk
Delran High School is proud to reintroduce the, ”DHS Alumni Walk.” The project is designed to provide the graduating seniors and DHS Alumni the opportunity to make their legacy a permanent piece of the landscape of Delran High School. This is the third year of the project, and we are hopeful to pave our way past the ticket booth this year. The project will allow members of the Delran High School family to congratulate, memorialize, and archive their relationships, memories, and friendships fostered here at DHS. Please consider buying a brick and making your legacy a permanent piece of DHS’s path to success. Please submit the order form with your payment to Mr. Brian Stolarick, Assistant Principal. Checks must be made payable to DHS Special Funds. Orders are due by April 15, 2017.
PTA Corner
Gift Basket Extravaganza - Donations Needed!
Attention Senior Parents: We need gift baskets to wrap! We have four weeks until the GBE, and we only have 35 completed baskets. Please drop off your donations and/or basket as soon as possible to Denise Klein at 76 Stoneham. If you don’t have time to shop, please drop off a gift card or cash donation; and we will shop and make a basket in honor of your graduate. You may donate as many baskets as you wsih. Parents who drop off a completed basket before Saturday, April 1st will be entered into a drawing to win VIP parking at graduation. Each basket donated will receive an entry in the drawing.
We also need parents to solicit local businesses for donations. Businesses are more than willing to donation. All you need to do is ask. Please volunteer and help support the Class of 2017. Remember that the proceeds from the GBE directly fund Project Graduation, and we cannot spend money we do not have. PLEASE help us meet our goal so we may provide a fun, safe and memorable Project Graduation for your child. Please send questions to Delran.mshs.pta@gmail.com.
Graduation Lawn Signs
Time is running out to purchase your Graduation Lawn Sign. Signs are available for both 8th & 12th grade graduates. Each signs is $25.00 and includes a lawn stake. Orders are due by Saturday, April 1st. No late orders will be accepted. An order form can be found HERE.
Senior Stars
Senior Stars are on sale for $5.00. Let your imagination run wild as you decorate a star in honor of your Class of 2017 graduate. Stars will be displayed at the Gift Basket Extravaganza and Project Graduation. Contact Theresa Heisler at jetmheis@comcast.net for additional information.

RUTGERS UNIVERSITY
Rutgers University offers a major in Exercise Science and Sports Studies with concentration options in Sports Management, Exercise Science, and Exercise Physiology. Rutgers will host general campus tours and information sessions on the Piscataway/New Brunswick campus on March 24 and 31 and April 13,17,18, 20, 21, and 28. Delran Education Foundation Casino Night
The Delran Education Foundation is excited to announce their 2nd Annual Casino Night. The event will be held on Saturday, April 1st at The Madison in Riverside. Enjoy dinner, an open wine/beer bar, casino games, and prizes! All proceeds go directly to our nonprofit foundation which provides funding for innovative and exciting programs for Delran students.
