Wear Orange on Wednesday to Stand Up Against Bullying
Of course, all students are learning and building their social-emotional skills. At Walnut, we practice kindness school-wide with our Bucket-filling program. Students receive positive reinforcement in class and on the playground for good problem-solving skills and deeds/words of kindness. If your child comes home with a super hero stamp on their hand, that means a campus safety assistant witnessed them being proactive in helping another student, including others, and/or saying kind things to others. Classroom teachers invest time into teaching clear expectations for behavior and creating a positive & supportive learning environment.
We are asking that all students and staff wear orange on Wednesday, 10/20, to show our commitment to being kind and standing up against bullying.
PTA Fundraiser at Chipotle on Tuesday 10/19
Scholastic Book Fair this Week
Monster Mash on Saturday, 10/23
Safety First!
- Students riding bikes, scooters, or skateboards must wear helmets. Students walk once on campus.
- We do not qualify for a crossing guard on Lesser Drive. If you use that gate, please be VERY CAREFUL when using the crosswalk. Drive slowly.
- Thank you for remembering to pull all the way forward when dropping off or picking up in the main parking lot. Students may not enter or exit the vehicle until it is past the blue crosswalk.
- It is safest to have children exit and enter the vehicle from doors that are up against the curb (not opening to the parking lot itself where cars are driving by)
