4th Street Principal Search Update
Dear Two Rivers Community,
I am excited to share news regarding our 4th Street Campus principal search! Although it is hard to imagine the end of Ms. Caroline’s tenure as principal of our 4th Street Campus, we are grateful to have experienced the way she powerfully served our community as principal for eight years.
To find Ms. Caroline’s replacement, Two Rivers engaged in an inclusive and robust process. After running a thorough search that engaged a broad group of stakeholders, we are excited to share that we have selected Dr. Danielle Hutcherson-Blount as the next principal of the Two Rivers 4th Street Campus! Our community shared that they were searching for someone who centered children through authentic connections, prioritized the learning journey of all students, had experience as a school leader in a diverse school setting, and was an influential collaborator who could engage and unify staff, families, and students under a vision for the school---and we believe we have found all of these qualities and more in Dr. Danielle!
Dr. Danielle has been in education for over 20 years as a teacher and leader at the elementary and middle school levels. She has been a school leader for over 15 years, including 7 years as a school principal. In that time, she has shown success in empowering teachers, connecting with students, and implementing effective curricular and instructional improvements in service of student outcomes.
Her journey towards school leadership began in Freehold, NJ, where she grew up in a family of educators. She attended Spelman College, graduated from Virginia State University, and received a dual Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University. Dr. Danielle has her administration degree from Salem State University, Massachusetts, and recently received her Doctorate in Education Leadership from Wingate University.
Dr. Danielle is an educator at her core and has experience working in diverse settings, including suburban schools in South Carolina, urban schools in Virginia, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC, and rural schools in North Carolina. Dr. Danielle also has experience with EL Education, having piloted and advocated for implementing EL’s literacy curriculum in her current school. Most critically, Dr. Danielle is committed to ensuring high outcomes for all students through engaging curriculum, fueled by joy.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Danielle Hutcherson-Blount on her selection as the next Two Rivers 4th Street Campus principal! Dr. Danielle will officially start on June 28th and the 4th St. Campus community can look forward to opportunities to welcome and get to know her soon!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kristina
