Our New Assistant Principal
Please help me welcome our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Trey Lancaster. Our leadership team conducted a very thorough selection process, and we are very excited to have Mr. Lancaster join our Long Family. Here's his introductory message:
"I am truly excited to be joining the J.W. Long team as your new Assistant Principal. I have been in education for 16 years. Prior to that I was a Pastor for four years. I was given an opportunity to teach and committed to it for one year. After that one year I was hooked. I have taught at Life School Oak Cliff, Forney ISD, and Terrell ISD. In between my time in Forney and Terrell my family and I served for two years as missionaries in India. I taught pastors how to plant churches and then how to multiply those groups. My wife taught in slum schools and worked with women teaching them how to multiply groups. Upon our arrival back in the states, I accepted at position at Wood Elementary. I taught there for a year-and-a-half and then moved over to Long to serve as a Principal Fellow. It was a unique program the district embarked on that year. I have been serving as Assistant Principal at Life School Mountain Creek since August of 2018. I have been married to my wife, Kimberly, for 22 years. Our oldest daughter, Kelli, is a sophomore at Dallas Baptist University. She is majoring in Kinesiology and wants to coach and teach high school math. My youngest daughter, Kensli, is an 8th grader at Wills Point Junior High. She plays volleyball, basketball, and runs track. My wife and I also serve as volunteer youth pastors at our church. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and have master’s degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Tech University. I’m looking forward to an incredible partnership we will develop together as we serve the students at J.W. Long. They deserve the best."
Feel free to contact Mr. Lancaster by calling the school number or via email at trey.lancaster@terrellisd.org

Little Library
We have installed a free Little Library outside the school. It's usage is as easy as 1-2-3:

2: Read the book
3: Return the book or donate a gently used book that you have read. Leave it in the library box.
We hope you will all enjoy it and help us maintain it!
