If you've enjoyed the nectarines and apples from the orchard this year, be sure to stop by mid to late summer to pick plums! Located just outside the elementary playground fence, the plum trees will be fruiting soon!
Support the MEA Theatre Company!
As many of you know, the director of the MEA Theatre Company, Adira Rosen will be graduating in just a few short days and will be attending college on the east coast next year. Due to Adira's geographic change, she will be unable to direct a full production at MEA next year. In order for the company to continue, we will need to hire part time staff to direct, costume, and design any productions. We are reaching out to ask for your financial support as we enter this new chapter of the MEA Theatre Co. Take a moment to read Adira's letter below, and, if you are able, please consider making a donation! Every dollar counts!

**************** MAKERSPACE ****************
Calling all creators!!
Have a skill you would like to share with our MEA community? Know how to knit, program, do woodworking, any type of craft or art-or anything else you could share with us? We’d love to learn! Please contact:

Nikki Bradford (nbradford@sandi.net)
Think of the MakerSpace over the summer!
We've had a great first year here in room 7 learning and creating as we go along! We've enjoyed having classes in to work on projects, creating monthly challenges, hosting free tinkering time and encouraging high school students to teach our elementary students. We'd love for our MEA community to send us any ideas they have for next year: feedback of what worked and didn't work, project ideas, and any suggestions as we start to plan for next year.
We'd also love it if you could think of us over the summer. :) Donations are greatly appreciated as we take what you donate to create new projects and fun learning for our students. If you can hold your donations and bring them in in September (we have no room for them here over the summer) we'd greatly appreciate it. We are open to what you'd like to donate but here are some ideas:
- paper towel/toilet paper rolls
- hot glue sticks
- stickers, jewels
- ribbon
- felt
- material
- coffee filters
- electronics/building materials
- colorful duct tape
- paper cutters
- popsicle sticks
- paper clips
- scissors
- buttons
- toothpicks
- uncrushed, clean soda cans
- play dough
- ziplock bags
- And really, any arts and crafts supplies
Thank you and have a great summer!
