LEXIA LAB
Lexia Lab will begin on October 7th. Our school has 30 licenses, and children with greater needs for language arts skills will be given preference to use one. If your child was enrolled last year in Lexia, they should be able to use their license at home until Lexia Lab begins. Lexia Lab is for students in Grades 1 - 6. We are unable to support kindergarten students in the Lexia Lab, but they may sign up for Lexia with Mrs. Copping if their teacher, Miss Deming, feels there is a need for improved language arts skills, and they may work on Lexia at home.

HealthWise with Nurse Jan
September is the month for national awareness of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Awareness. Many of us are surprised to learn that every glass of alcohol does have an effect on the unborn child; sometimes it becomes life altering.
As supportive parents and a strong school community, let's take this month and help share the information we have gained about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). Knowledge is power and enables people to make choices that benefit them and their families.
I am attaching two flyers for you to view. One is for a free MOVIE Night called "Moment to Moment: Teens Growing Up With FASD" that will be shown at the Anchorage Museum on Sep 5th to educate the public. The other one is for the a Support Group for families effected by FASD - the first meeting is Sep 9th. Their theme is: "Bad days/Good days, We get it. We can help."
Please see me with any questions pertaining to FASD or to obtain additional information.
