TCMPC: TEKSRS and TCR Updates
October 27th, 2023
TCMPC Acts to Support Districts with SB2124
One of the concerns that districts are facing now is the advanced math courses in grades 6 and 7 as required by SB 2124. TCMPC is here to help!
Since the passing of the bill, the TEKSRS math content team and ESC math specialists have been working on developing the advanced math courses. Currently being created are new YAGs, IFDs, and assessment items. I do not currently have a timeline for when these will be released, but as the project gets further along, I will continue to share information and projected dates.
Are you currently using Carnegie? TEA met with TCMPC and asked us to create the advanced math courses on the TCR side. This request is newer so they will be a short time behind the TEKSRS courses, but we will have them ready for the new school year as well. Again, I will share more information as it comes.
TCMPC and HB1605
Another large bill that was passed was HB1605. Because TEKSRS is a resource and not a curriculum, we will not have to go through the Instructional Materials Review and Approval (IMRA).
TEKSRS is the WHAT (specificity), WHEN (scope and sequence), ASSESSMENT
and the Instructional Material is the HOW.
TCMPC + IM = Curriculum
TCR for Amplify
Are you currently using Amplify as your reading curriculum? We have units 1-4 ready to share for TCR ELAR and SLAR. If you are interested in using these, please contact me so I can get you the paperwork and the documents.
New Science TEKS
Currently Published:

*With all the changes to Middle School Science TEKS, it is taking longer to complete the IFDs, but please know they are continually being worked on and uploaded when completed.
Please have your science teachers and instructional coaches review these drafts and report to us any issues or concerns they have.
Teaser: New Website Coming Next Year!
I am excited that I am able to announce that TCMPC will be switching to a new website sometime next year. Our new website is currently being created by ExamSpark. I will have the opportunity to see the website in action at the end of next month. I say "sometime next year" as transferring all the information and formatting has taken longer than expected. The current projection is next winter, but as with all things, this date might move up or back. Please know, we are working to make this a seamless transition. I will also be ready to provide professional development at the ESC and send any videos if support is needed.

In case you are new...
As you can see by this email, we have a lot of acronyms! Here is are a few for your information:
TCMPC (Texas Curriculum Management Program Cooperative)- Don’t worry! I never even remember what this one stands for. TCMPC is made up of all 20 ESCs and the TEKSRS state team and we create and maintain TEKSRS and TCR.
TRS or TEKSRS (TEKS Resource System)
TCR (Texas Curriculum Resources)- connection to OER materials for ELAR and Math (Amplify, Eureka, and Carnegie)
