Children's Programs
Make It Take It Craft

Age Level: Children ages 3 and up**
**Children under 5 years may need parental assistance.
Drop by and make a fun craft! In May, create a Mother's Day card and a special little gift for Mom. Note: Registration is not necessary for this program.
Bath Fizzies
Wednesday, May 9, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Children & Teens – 10 years old and up
Join us as we make bath fizzies. Bath fizzies are a great way to make an ordinary bath extraordinary with lots of fizz and foam. We will mix the ingredients, dye the bath fizzies, and put them in a mold. We will even have some examples of bath fizzies on hand that we will put into water to see what happens. Note: This could get messy so please dress accordingly!
Intro to Baby Massage

Age Level: Babies 3 weeks – 11 months
Pamela Murgo, LMT of RehabExperts Massage Therapy in Chepachet will explain the benefits of baby massage. The sequence and techniques for effective baby massage will be demonstrated.
Sensory Story Time
Tuesday, May 22, 10:30 a.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: All ages
Children of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us for a fun, interactive story time. We will enjoy a story, music, and sensory play. Linda Brunetti of the Autism Project will be on hand to answer questions about resources and services available to families. Note: Caregivers must be present during story time.
Graphic Novel Book Club
Thursday, May 31, 4 p.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: 7-12 years old
Join the Harmony Library's newest book club! Each month, children will pick up a book from the graphic novel series of the month at the Circulation Desk. At the end of the month, we'll discuss the series over snacks. Children will be encouraged to talk about the books, draw the characters, or discuss other great graphic novels. May’s graphic novel series selection will be Star Wars Jedi Academy by Jeffrey Brown and Jarrett J. Krosoczka. Children can read any of the five books in the Star Wars Jedi Academy series.

An Evening with Brian Trainor

Enjoy an evening with photographic artist, BrianTrainor, as he shows and talks about his photographs. Note: A selection of Brian's photographs are currently displayed on the main floor of the Glocester Manton Library.
Ukulele Workshop for Beginners (Seven-Week Series)
Wednesday, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, and 13, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Musician and teacher, Tripp Hutchinson, will guide you through a seven week series of workshops to learn how to strum simple songs, tune your ukulele, technique, and some basic music theory. Music and instrumental material will be provided. Ukuleles are not provided, but the library does have five ukuleles for borrowing on a first-come, first-serve basis. Note: You only need to register once for this series. Note: There is a $5 fee for each class.
Intermediate Level Ukulele Workshop (Seven-Week Series)
Wednesday, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, and 13, 7 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
This workshop is designed for those ukulele players who have been strumming for a bit and feel comfortable with some of the basic ukulele techniques. Musician and teacher, Tripp Hutchinson, will provide instruction on new strumming and picking patterns. New chords, tips, and tricks will bring color and dimension to the great songs of our musical heritage. Note: You only need to register once for this seven-week series. Note: There is a $5 fee for each class and purchase of the book, Hal Leonard Ukulele Method Book 1, is strongly recommended. Several copies will be available for borrowing on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Cookbook Club
Monday, May 7, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
The group will follow Skinnytaste Fast and Slow: Knockout Quick-Fix and Slow Cooker Recipes by Gina Homolka. The club works this way: every month, pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the Harmony Library. Choose a recipe to make and prepare it for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences.
Evening Book Discussion/Dinner

Join us for a delicious dinner followed by a lively discussion of the highly acclaimed The Golden Hill: A Novel of Old New York by Francis Spufford. The novel follows the adventures of a mysterious young man in mid-eighteenth century Manhattan, 30 years before the American Revolution.
Fearless Art Club

Each month, we explore different drawing challenges to spark our creativity and enhance our drawing skills. The topics of exploration are guided by the members. All levels of experience are welcome. All materials will be provided.
Writers' Support Group

Read and share your personal projects at this monthly meeting. This adult group is open to writers in all genres.
Crochet Group

Beginners and crocheters that are more advanced are invited to learn and share their experience in a comfortable room for crochet and conversation! Ashley Ledoux, an experienced crocheter, will teach beginners and be available for assistance and advice.
