Student Safety & New Protocols for Morning Drop-Off & Afternoon Pick-Up
In order to expedite drop-off and pick-up we will be sending home placards with your student(s)' names and grade levels in the next two weeks homework packets. We ask that you place the placards on the dash or tape it to your passenger window. This will help the staff know who you are picking up and can radio in to the building for teachers to release your student(s).
If you are part of a carpool, or will have friends or other family members pick up your student(s) please contact the front office (742-3025) so that we can make a placard with names of all students you or your carpool partners will be picking up.
We Need Your Help
Please find the attached Daily Home Screening Checklist below. We are encouraging all families to review these daily before leaving for school. If your student(s) show symptoms, please do not send them to school. If you have any questions, contact the school (742-3025) and ask to speak to Nurse Jan.
On Friday, November 13th between 9-3pm we would like K-2 students to drop off their school supplies so we are ready to go on the first day of school. Everything needs to be labeled with the student’s name and should all be in a labeled bag with name and grade level.
Preliminary data indicate that the risk of transmission of COVID is lessened while participating in outdoor activities, due to airflow. We will continue to encourage and maintain social distancing (as much as possible) and require students to wear their masks during recess.
Experience has shown us that EACS students are able to wear masks while playing on the playground. Most, if not all of our students, across all grade levels, happily wear masks during the winter months during recess without complaint or adverse effect.
Face Mask Guidance
Eagle Academy will be following ASD safety protocols. Face masks will be worn at all times. The only exceptions are while eating and drinking. The APB views the mask mandate as an extension of our school uniform policy.
Face masks should be solid (no prints or patterns) and match the approved uniform colors (Navy Blue, Light Blue, White, and Red). Additionally the APB has approved the following colors:
- Black
- Grey
- Brown
EACS will provide all students three reusable cloth face masks and a lanyard to secure the masks to their person when we resume in-person instruction. As with all articles of uniform, we request that you print your student's name with a permanent marker on the mask in case it is accidentally left behind. We also have a small quantity of single use disposable pediatric masks on hand for emergencies.
We encourage students to pack one or two extra face masks in their backpack. Face masks tend to get wet/damp during recess and will likely need to be changed out with a dry one.
Click here for additional considerations for wearing masks by the CDC.
In the event that you are unable to source face masks for your student(s), please contact Principal Carroll.
In an attempt to minimize the time students spend in large groups outside their classroom pods, students will be eating lunch in their classrooms (not in the lunchroom).
We are requesting you send your student with a healthy snack to enjoy during the morning break as well as pack items that do not need to be microwaved. Microwaves will not be available to heat up meals. If you would like to send something warm, please pack it in a thermos or insulated container.
