Last Day for College Course Advising - April 9
April 9th is the final day for college course advising with Mr. Evans. If you haven’t met with him yet, please book an appointment at https://collegeliaison.youcanbook.me. You may call him at your appointment time at 919-797-9260. You will be unable to register unless you attend an advising session first.
Registration: College course registration began on March 29th. The last day for Middle College students to register for summer and fall classes is April 11th. You should not remain on a waitlist after this date. If April 11th arrives and you are still on a waitlist, you should choose a different course section.

Juniors: Check Out The MCHS Virtual Club Fair!
Looking to get more involved in student life next year? Want to serve as Safe Space president, yearbook photographer, or anything in between? Come to the MCHS Virtual Club Fair on Friday, April 16 at 11 AM! All juniors will be able to attend presentations of various MCHS, Durham Tech, and community organizations. This is a great starting place for juniors who feel that they had trouble establishing community this year, and want to become more connected with their peers as seniors!
To attend, keep your eyes out for an email from Mrs. Machak with the Zoom link! Attendance is free, fun and easy!

- Attention Juniors: Mrs. Machak is now scheduling junior conferences to go over their senior year action plan. Topics to be discussed will include graduation requirements, potential college and major plans, and testing. - If you missed Junior House for March, please make sure you review the PPT posted on Canvas before the meeting with Mrs. Machak.
- On Monday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Machak will host a Junior Parent Night to review preparatory information for Senior year. In the meeting, she will review graduation requirements, the college planning process, scholarships and financial aid information. The link to the event will be communicated closer to the date.
- THE UNC System will be hosting the Ask a Student virtual Panel the week of April 12, 2021! This event will allow prospective students the opportunity to learn more about campus life at our 16 UNC System universities by asking their questions directly to current students. - The North Carolina Bar Association’s Environment, Energy & Natural Resources Section is pleased to announce a sustainability essay contest, open to interested high school students. Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 28, 2021. The Winners of the Contest Receive First prize: $500; Second prize: $250; Third prize $100! The winning essays will be published in the fall edition of Environmental News, the quarterly publication of the Environment, Energy & Natural Resources Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
- Freedom Schools Literacy Academy is seeking college and high school students interested in demonstrating the radical impact of Black and Brown teachers. This summer, join the next generation of educator-activists with a paid apprenticeship at Freedom Schools Literacy Academy. - The Department of Emergency Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill is introducing a new experience called “Emergency Medicine: Diversity in Discipline, Professions, and Patient Population” for high school and undergraduate students (18+) interested in learning more about Emergency Medicine. Students must apply by April 16 for this week-long experience (6/21-6/25).
