What is Socrative?- #47
Up to 50 students per session can enter your room. Your students can go here to login to your room to access the quiz/feature you want them to. The room name is only specific to you. Unfortunately, you can't share a quiz to Google Classroom like you can with Quizzizz or other tech tools. However, you can still copy and paste the link into Google Classroom.
Here is some information that shows you the free vs. pro account.
Check out the features below and please let me know if you have any questions.
Quiz
With the quiz feature, you can create, search through the shared quiz list, or import a quiz.
Creating A Quiz
To create a quiz, click on the quiz tab and choose, add quiz. You're then able to choose the question type that you're wanting- multiple choice, true/false, or short answer. When choosing multiple choice, and if you want the question to be graded, be sure to check the box to the right of the correct answer(s). Short answer questions are only graded if one (or more) answers have been provided for the question. The downfall is that in order to get the short answer correct, they must type in exactly what you entered (it is not case sensitive).
Two features I like is the explanation tool. You can add an explanation of the correct answer to a question and an image to the question as well.
Align A Quiz
You can align your quiz to a standard. It does not offer test bank type questions though. This allows you to see what TEK you have covered and the results of testing on that TEK. You can filter by subject, core, and class/grade.
Copy A Quiz
When you duplicate a quiz, you create another version of quiz. Therefore, editing or deleting one will not affect the other. You just find the quiz you want to download, hover over it, and the copy option will appear. After choosing to copy, you'll then be prompted to rename the copied quiz. You might use this if you want to go back and have your students retake a quiz to see if and how they improved on a TEK.
Import a Quiz
You can also import a quiz from the Socrative Shared Quiz List ;however, it's not maintained well. Therefore, some quizzes are no longer accessible. You CAN import a quiz from Excel using Socrative's Excel Template. When you choose to import, choose download template. To me though, this would not be a good use of time. I would just create a quiz within Socrative.
Share A Quiz
You can share a quiz with your teammate. When you choose to share a quiz, you can email it to your teammate and after they open it, it will automatically generate in your Quizzes library.
Space Race
- Play by themselves on their own computer (up to 20 students).
- Play together by sharing a single computer.
- Play together on the same team, but answering on separate computers.
You are allowed to have up to 20 teams. Students can choose their own teams or be randomly assigned to one.
In Space Race, you're able to shuffle questions, shuffle answers, show students feedback (might want to turn off to speed up the game), and/or show final score.
As soon as you choose to start, it will automatically start the game with no countdown.
Exit Ticket
- How well did you understand today's material?
- What did you learn in today's class?
- Please answer the teacher's question.
