“Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy!” St. Augustine
Blessings to all of you on this most holy day, The Feast of All Saints! The students have been learning much about how we are all a part of the communion of saints, those in heaven, those in purgatory, and us here on earth. The church calls us to live lives of holiness. Thanks for supporting our theme of “be holy”.
Early dismissal on THURSDAY, NOV. 1. The After School Care program will be in session from 12:30 – 5:30. Buses will run their routes shortly after 12:30.
Box of Joy. Thanks to all of you who have joined the school in this special service project. Filled boxes are already finding their way to the school office. Generosity is a sign of holiness! Thanks for working with your children on this project. Boxes are due back at school by Fri. Nov. 2. Thank you, ProLife Committee, for working with us.
NO SCHOOL on MONDAY, NOV. 5. This day is a dedicated diocesan Professional Development Day for our staff.
Spirit Day. Our next Spirit Day will be Tuesday, Nov 20. Students may wear their Spirit Day shirts on that day. Students may opt to dress down on this same day for $1.00 or a canned food item to donate to the Samaritan center. This is the same day that we have our annual 8th Grade vs Faculty Volleyball game in the afternoon. We hope to have a evening basketball scrimmage to collected canned food items and money for the Samaritan Center. More information will come later.
This week the results of the Iowa Basic Skills Tests were received. Teachers will be reviewing the results during professional development. Look for student (Grade 3 – 8) results to come home next week.
The school is in receipt of two donations. One from the Village Art Studio for $25.00. This comes to us because some of our students participated in their summer program. This money will be used for art supplies. We also received a check from Kroger for $47.00.
Thanks, again, for your support of these programs which in turn supports our school.
