October Theme - Fabulous Fall
We are talking about the fabulous things that happen in the fall - fall changes, fall colors, apples, leaves, pumpkins, nuts, and scarecrows. We will also have some Halloween topics near the end of the month - bats, spiders, nighttime animals, and (silly) monsters.
Many of these topics are highlighted on the calendar via our letters of the day ativities.
During the month, the children will continue to work on name recognition, letter recognition, number recognition, sorting skills, counting skills, pattern skills; and building fine motor strength.

How can you solve that problem/situation?
Throughout the day, we have many situations that come up (sharing, playing with each other, etc.) One of our goals is to give your child the tools to solve their 'problem/situation' on their own.
Last week, the children began to hear the phase "how can you solve that problem?" "what can we do to fix this situation?' At first, the children looked at me a little confused but as the week progressed - they are doing better coming up to possible solutions and then talking with the other children about it. As always, the teachers are there to help them brainstorm possible solutions and assist with giving them the necessary words to interact with the other children.
