Book Fair & GRAND Event!
The next Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon! The book fair will be held on Tuesday, February 25th and Thursday, February 27th from 4:00pm until 7:30pm in POD C during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
We will also be hosting our annual GRAND Event. The GRAND Event is an occasion where students can come and enjoy some breakfast and shopping at the book fair with a special guest such as a Grandparent, Relative, Aunt or Uncle, Neighbor, or Devoted Caregiver. This event will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 7:30am to 8:30am, before school, in the cafeteria and gym.
While you are at the Book Fair and GRAND Event, we welcome you to take a peek at the Teacher Buckets and graciously purchase a book for their classroom library to help all the kids in your student's class - and future classes - become great readers!
Also, you won't want to miss signing up to win a gift basket of books! No purchase is required, just visit the fair and sign up. Winner will be picked the week after the fair.
Volunteers
Volunteers are so important to make any event successful. Both the Book Fair and GRAND Event are in need of volunteers. Please consider giving your time and signing up for 1 or more time slots.
Many Thanks
A huge thank you to La Java for their donation of amazing coffee and Uncle Mike's for the donation of their delicious kringles and more importantly for their continued commitment to the GRAND Event and support of Forest Glen!

From Your School Board Representative - Jason Potts
Learning and Growing Together at the State Education Convention
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” - Nelson Mendela
The State Education Convention, sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB), met January 21-24 in Milwaukee and provided an opportunity for school board members and other administrators from HSSD to network, learn and share important issues related to public education in Wisconsin.
With the theme of “Expanding Your Vision,” representatives heard keynote speakers and attended breakout sessions focusing on student learning, school finances, mental health, building community relationships, just to name a few. Learning from another school board or district can open new possibilities or create a reflection on our current policies for the Howard-Suamico School District.
