Coffee Chat
For GT LEAD Parents
December 5th
OCT Library
7:15-8:15
(This is time parents to meet and greet with other GT Parents, Ms. Young, Ms. Whisman and Mrs. Griffin. Coffee and bagels will be provided.)
5th Grade
Next week, students will present their ideas for apps in a "Shark Tank" type atmosphere.
5th Grade GT LEAD will also have a guest speaker, Mr. Richardson, who is married to our Kindergarten teacher, Anna Marie Richardson. He is an App Developer and former high school coach. He will meet with them on Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the OCT Library and will share how his idea for an app became a reality. We are excited to hear his real-life experience!
4th Grade
3rd Grade
Next week, they will be working on scripts for their career presentations. I will continue to post pics (created in Piccollage) like those again in the next newsletter. If you don't see your child's photo, stay tuned next week!
2nd Grade
They also worked on listening and sequencing with a script, called "When you say Boo..."
Lastly, students set up ePortfolios in their Google Drive LEAD folders, and they have uploaded a favorite piece into it for the First 9 Weeks.
1st Grade
We also evaluated our Draw Starts. We looked for originality, and we discussed features of using space, the power of a title, and how details in a picture all help to tell the story of the drawing. We talked about point of view in a drawing and compared that to point of view in a book or story.
Students are uploading any daily work (both digital and paper) into their LEAD folders in Google Drive.
