BUILDING HOURS AND VISITORS
POSSIBLE SCHOOL START DATE CHANGE
"We are considering a change in the school start date to be extended one week to August 31, 2020, pending board approval on Monday, August 10th. This change does not affect the educational choice you selected for your student(s). With a one week delay, it also does not significantly impact the overall school calendar that has been established for the 2020-2021 school year."

PTA NEWS
The McKinley PTA will hold a brief business meeting on Monday, August 17th at 6:30 p.m. at the McKinley Outdoor Learning Center (on the south side of the school) and everyone is welcome! Please bring a chair so we can spread out! The purpose of this meeting will be to vote in our Executive Board and approve the 2020-2021 budget. We need to have at least 6 members in attendance to have a quorum vote so we appreciate you joining us.
Following the business meeting, Mr. Martinez (Principal) and Mrs. Hanna (Associate Principal) will answer questions regarding the upcoming school year.
PTA BOARD NOMINATIONS:
The PTA is accepting nominations for President and Vice-President positions via email at PTA.McKinley@yahoo.com through August 16th. Please let us know if you are interested in one of these positions or if you have any questions.

During annual verification, you can also complete release agreements for your student. These include agreeing to your student’s computing device, giving consent for field trips, and other important items. You can add new students during annual verification, for example kindergartners.
If you need help with completing annual verification or your parent portal account, assistance will be available at the following locations:
Wednesday August 12th from 1pm to 4pm at ELSC (2500 Edgewood Rd NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405)
Thursday August 13th from 1pm to 4pm at Van Buren (2525 29th Street SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404)

HY-VEE CASH 4 STUDENTS PROGRAM UPDATE
Thank you to all who participated in last year's Hy-Vee Cash 4 Students Program. We are in the process of sorting/counting the last of the receipts.
