Ooni Pizza Oven Raffle - Win a Prize and Help the library
A pizza oven raffle will be held in June with proceeds to benefit the Harmony Library! Tickets are 1 for $5, 3 for $10, or 7 for $20 with the drawing held on June 30th.
The winner will receive a gas fueled 12 inch Ooni Pizza Oven (tank not included), a 12 inch pizza peel, and The Pizza Bible by Tony Gemignani. ($480 value) You can buy your tickets at the Harmony Library during library hours: Monday through Thursday (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Buy a ticket and support the Harmony Library!
Summer Reading Programs for Kids Begins June 20!
Summer Reading Returns! Registration opens June 1st!
Read Beyond the Beaten Path, this summer's theme, combines camp, adventure, and skill development. Your summer camp activities will include many different experiences such as:
- Story Times
- Crafts/Creativity
- Outdoor Exploration
- Nature Observation
- STEM Programs
- Reading Opportunities
- Life Skills Development
- A Place to Make Friends!
Registration is required for all children, teen, and adult programs unless otherwise noted. Programs fill quickly.
Children's Programs
Glocester Manton and Harmony Libraries Pick Up Crafts

Age Level: All Ages, No registration required.
Stop by both libraries once weekly to pick up a new and exciting summer craft to take home! Crafts differ between libraries.
Harmony and Glocester Manton Libraries’ Craft Tables

Inside both libraries, you will find a craft table in the Children’s section. Crafts will be swapped out, so be sure to stop by often!
Dads and Donuts Story Time
Monday, June 20, 5 p.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Ages 2 to 6 with caregiver
Join us to celebrate Father’s Day (a day late) with a fun story time and donuts! Stories, songs, flannel board activities, donuts, and a special time with Dad is a good way to spend Father’s Day!
Tot Lot Story Time
Tuesdays - June 21 and June 28, July 5, 12, 19, and 26, 10:30 a.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Ages 2 to 6 with caregiver
Enjoy the summer weather with Miss Kat as we read fun stories, sing songs, and interact with the felt board. At the end, have fun and enjoy the Tot Lot!
Crafty Wednesdays
Wednesday - June 22 and June 29, July 6, 13, 20, and 27, 11 a.m., Glocester Manton LIbrary
Age Level: Ages 5 and up
Make a Summer Reading Program themed craft at the Glocester Manton Library on Wednesdays. Some crafts include Tie-dyed t-shirts and pet rocks. We will end on the last day, July 27, by making Smores! Note: Crafts are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Baby Story Time

Glocester Manton Quilt Making
Friday, June 24, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton LIbrary
Age Level: Ages 7 and up
Help Glocester Manton make a quilt, showing why we love our local library! Each participant will be given a fabric square to draw on to show their library appreciation. Once completed, each square will be tied together to make an awesome quilt we will display in the Children’s area!
RICBA Book Club
Tuesday, June 28 and Friday, July 22, 1 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Ages 8 to 12
Join Miss Kat as we read a 2023 RICBA nominee to get some summer reading done! Our first meeting will include getting the book and talking about what we expect from the book. After reading the book, we will chat about the book at the second meeting. Note: Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Sand Art

POW Science Dinosaur Camp

Age Level: Ages 5 to 10
Join us with POW Science to learn about dinosaurs! Learn about plant and meat eaters, dinosaur digestion, fossils, and play a game or two! You will also get to take home your own paleontology journal.

Cookbook Club
Monday, June 6, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Our June meeting will feature the book, Everyday Dorie: The Way I Cook by Dorie Greenspan. The author, who gave up working on a doctorate in gerontology to bake cookies in a basement restaurant kitchen, went on to win five James Beard Awards and write fourteen cookbooks.
This is how the club works: every month, pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the Harmony Library. Choose a recipe to make and prepare it for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences. If you would like to join the Cookbook Club, register below and then drop by the library to pick up a copy of the book.

Fearless Art

Join us as we continue to explore watercolor techniques. Each meeting consists of sharing and discussing our work followed by tutorials introducing us to new technique or subject matter. The library supplies the paper and the artist grade paints for each project.
Hiking Highlights in Northern Rhode Island

The Harmony Library is pleased to host a three-part hiking series this summer featuring outdoor expert Jim Robinson! In part one, Jim will focus on some of his favorite trails in northern and central Rhode Island as well as boundary areas of Connecticut and Massachusetts. DIY Watercolor Sketchbook

Join us as we fold and cut a sketchbook using 140 lb. watercolor paper. Designer paper will be available to add your personal touches to the cover of your sketchbook.
Decorative Summer Sign Painting for Adults
Monday, June 27, 5:30 p.m., Harmony Library
Participants will learn how to paint a decorative summer theme on a wooden sign. Local artist Cassandra Burns will lead this workshop. All materials will be provided. Note: Registration will open on Tuesday, June 7, 6 p.m.

If you would like help with a Microsoft Office application: Word, Excel, or PowerPoint; want to learn how to use your new iPad or Apple laptop; or develop basic Internet skills, please phone the Harmony Library at 949-2850 or the Glocester Manton Library at 568-6077 for an appointment. Note: All classes require participants to wear a mask at this time and may be postponed due to COVID restrictions.
