Harmony Library with the R.I. Museum of Science and Art
With the flight tube, visitors can experiment with the movement of items through turbulent air. Children and adults of all ages may feed objects through a space at the bottom of the tube and watch as they spin, float, sink, or fly in the wind. Visit the library and try it!

Getting Started with Chickens

Learn about the basic needs of the flock including housing options, feeding, flock health and productivity, breeds, starting a flock, and so much more! All ages are invited to ask questions of Heidi Wright, a RI rep on the New England Applied Poultry Science Training Program, who has experience raising chickens and other farm animals.

Cookbook Club

This month’s theme is muffin meals! Most people think about cupcakes when they look at their muffin tin pan, but you’ll have a choice of cookbooks that will give you portion-controlled muffin size recipes. Each person will prepare a recipe for the group and then sample each other’s dishes while discussing the cooking experience. Register online and then drop by the library to pick up a copy of the book.
New Movie Matinee

Grab a snack and enjoy a new release movie on the big screen! The library shows new movies two or three times a month depending on DVD release dates. Visit our website or the library for upcoming matinees. Registration is not necessary!

Aromatherapy and Essential Oils
Tuesday, March 7, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Tracy Gilchrist of the Natural Wellness Studio in Harrisville will focus on the healing roles that different oils play as well as explain how to use them safely and effectively. Each participant will leave the class with handouts and will create their own blend of oils to bring home. There is a $5 fee which can be paid on the night of the class.
Painting on Glass: Principles of Design
Wednesday, March 8, 15, and 22, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
In a series of three painting classes, local artist Kim Belleavoine will teach you the principles of design and the unique art of painting on glass. There is a one-time fee of $5 for all materials.
Reiki for Health and Happiness

Reiki Master Tina Goulet will explain what Reiki is, how it works, and its many health benefits. If you’ve ever wondered about this alternative healing method, this is a great opportunity to have your questions answered! Tina is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Master Reiki Teacher.
Crochet Group

Learn the basics of crocheting from Ashley Ledoux, an experienced crocheter. Ledoux will teach beginners and be available for assistance and advice for more experienced folk. The library will provide a comfortable room for crochet and conversation.
Documentary Showing: The Amazing Life & Times of Austin T. Levy
Wednesday, March 22, 1 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Join producer and writer, Ken Proudfoot, for a showing of his documentary about local industrialist, agriculturist, and philanthropist Austin T. Levy. This beautifully produced documentary showcases the remarkable lives of Austin and his wife, June, and their strong and enduring commitment to their community.
Ghengis Khan: His Conquests, New World Order, and the U.S. Constitution
Wednesday, March 29, 1 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
Dr. Ronald Barks will discuss an aspect of European history not covered in most history courses. In the 12th Century A.D., Ghengis Khan, an illiterate barbarian established the greatest land empire of all time. His New World Order fostered the exchange of trade, knowledge, and cultures between China and Europe. Thomas Jefferson adapted Ghengis’ laws regarding freedom of speech and religion for inclusion in our Constitution.
