Friday, September 6 - Football Double-Header! Join us at Rutherford Field where our Juvenile and Cadet teams will play back to back under the lights! Two fan buses for the students will leave Selwyn House after school at 3:40 pm to take students to the field. Please note Senior School PE tomorrow is optional for students attending the games. The buses will be back to Selwyn House at approx. 7:15 pm. Map to Rutherford Field McGill
Monday, September 9 - City Challenge: students will meet in Coristine Hall at 8:30 am. The City Challenge will run for the day, ending by 2:45 pm. Students should wear comfortable shoes and their House Shirt, as well as dress for the weather with jacket, track pants, baseball cap if rainy or cool. Lunch will be provided, but they may want to bring some money for snacks throughout the day.

Wednesday, September 11, September Gryphon Sale, 7:00 - 11:00 a.m. Rossy Agora. A full stock of gently-used uniform items are available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Nancy Pitfield Scholarship Fund, which helps in offering bursaries to worthy students. Come out for a good cause and take advantage of great prices at the same time!

September 13 - 17: Grade 10 & 11 Outdoor Ed Trip - Swiftwater and Whitewater Rescue

Thursday, September 26: OPUS cards for Grades 7 to 11: 12 - 2:00 pm Rossy Agora: $15 in cash to cover card fee, and Proof of age (health insurance card, birth certificate, passport) Student ID card is NOT an accepted piece of ID. Your completed Photo OPUS card application form signed by parent for students 13 years and under.
Saturday, September 28: Quebec BP Debating Championship for Middle & Senior debaters 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Macaulay Building
Monday, September 30: is the official MEES (Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport) attendance verification day, on which the school is required to report to the ministry the actual student attendance and subsequently register each student for the 2019-2020 academic year. Please avoid scheduling appointments on this day. Your child’s/children’s attendance will alleviate significant paperwork for families and the school. Thank you for your support! Action required! ImPACT Introduction Letter and ImPACT Test Instructions The ImPACT test is a baseline cognitive test that is important in helping to diagnose concussion and to manage post-concussion return to academics and athletics. All students should take the test as a concussion can occur in places other than the athletic field or rink.

Winter clothes needed for two families from Cameroon: Mr Pruneau and a group of friends are helping two families from Cameroon who immigrated this summer. He is looking for winter coats, snow pants, boots, mittens, gloves, hats for 8 children from those two families to keep them warm for our Canadian winter: five boys: 3, 6, 8, 9 and 11 years and three girls: 3, 7 and 15 years old. If your son or daughter has outgrown their winter gear, please donate them. There will be a table at the Gryphon Sale in the Rossy Agora to give in your donations on September 11 or you could get in touch directly with Mr Pruneau Thank you for your donations!
Leadership Opportunities
Monday, September 9: is the deadline to fill in your online record book for Duke of Edinburgh if you have completed the requirements for your Duke of Edinburgh level and would like to receive your award at the Academic Awards Ceremony. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Powers or Ms. Cazabon.
Friday, September 27 is the deadline to fill in the Google Form to attend the 41st Annual Ontario Student Leadership Conference taking place from November 3-5 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Any questions can be directed to Ms. Cazabon.
Are you interested in being a Big Brother? The Big Brother program brings the Senior School and Elementary School boys together throughout the year to hang out, have fun, and make connections. Each Senior School boy is paired up with a boy from Elementary School for the duration of the program. This year, Big Brother will take place on the first Wednesday of each month from November to April. If you are interested in signing up, please use the Google Form to let us know! If you have any questions, please ask Ms. Cazabon.
