SUMMIT ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM A HUGE SUCCESS
We are pleased to announce Summit's artist in residences Anne Raskopf and Lauren Boysa assisted our students to create 5 murals to adorn the wall space above each bubbler in our Summit hallways. The project was a collaboration with two amazing high school artists, Michaela Bialek and Lauren Boysa. Michaela has photographed beautiful trees, butterflies, cows, and much more for imagery inspiration to incorporate into the 5 murals our students created.
Lauren Boysa worked with second grade artists since January painting a large cow mural to be placed above the bubbler by the art room.
This past week, during regularly scheduled art classes, each student 4K through 4th grade had a chance to work with local artist Anne Raskopf to design and paint 4 murals. 4K, 5K and 2nd grade artists created a mural focusing on an underwater scene, 1st grade students painted a butterfly scene, 3rd grade artists utilized their tree drawing skills to make a landscape showcasing trees, and finally 4th grade artists made a cubism inspired horse mural. Visit Summit School to view these amazing works of art in person or go online @ Summit’s On-Line Art Gallery to purchase gifts embellished with each mural.

SUMMIT READING GARDEN - DONATIONS APPRECIATED!
Please join Girl Scout Junior Troop 6313 (Summit School Alumni) as they work to complete their Bronze Award and beautify Summit School by creating a cozy and relaxing reading garden!
Located on the north side of the school, the garden will be a calming space for sitting, reading or hanging with friends. Beautiful flowers, stepping stones, benches and other places to sit will surround the Peace Pole to create a space that everyone can enjoy.
If you would like to help donate supplies for the Summit Reading Garden, please see the list of items needed in the Sign Up Genius. Please bring the items to the school by the date indicated next to each item.
Thank you in advance!
The Girl Scouts of Junior Troop 6313
PLEASE CHECK THE LOST & FOUND!!!
If your student has misplaced an item at school, please take time in the next couple of weeks to stop and take a look. The lost and found is located in the hallway outside of the health room. You may stop in before 6:00 p.m. if the evening is a better time to look.
SUMMIT LITTLE FREE LIBRARY
In 2012, Summit Visual Art and Design Club created the Summit Little Free Library located in the front of our school to promote literacy and art. Feel free to stop by and take a book home to read or we have handmade sketchbooks available for Summit artists to draw and design. Although the sketchbooks need to be returned for all Summit artists to have a chance to create, the chapter and picture books may be kept and added to your family library!!! If you want to donate a book into the Summit Little Free Library just place book inside, thank you!
