From the Principal's desk
Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25
The school looks forward to spending Friday morning (April 27) with Grandparents. For special instructions, please see the note elsewhere in the STAR today and communicate the necessary information. Thanks for your help in making this an enjoyable time for all.
This is such a great time of year to take Field Trips. The school does follow the policy and regulations set forth by the diocese when going on a Field Trip. I have provided that Diocesan School Policy (DSP 6301) here for your review. The school’s handbook includes more detailed information regarding field trips.
DSP 6301
INSTRUCTION: Educational Outings, Field Trips, 8th Grade Trips and Senior Trips
Field trips and outings are to be learning experiences; they are also privileges. Each teacher or moderator, in advance, explains to the school administrator/principal the proposed field trip, including student preparation, plans for supervision and transportation, and student follow-up activities. If approved, the teacher follows the local procedures for the distribution and return of the field trip forms with parental signatures.
A school may, but is not required to, sponsor an end of year 8th grade and/or a senior trip. If it does, then the school must be ultimately responsible for the planning and implementation, including the assigning of chaperones and the establishment of rules. In addition, school personnel must be on the trip. If the school does not sponsor the trip, then DSP 6306 is to be followed, in which case the school must isolate itself from the planning, distribution of any information, and fundraising. If any fundraising is done, then the school name is not to be used. The school tax identification number is not to be used in any way for this trip, and any contracts are not to use the school name.

WALK for LIFE Report
The persistent rain didn’t dampen the spirits of our enthusiastic pro-lifers at the annual Walk for Life held April 22. Winners for collecting the most money for pro-life include Kally and Brooke Bruce, daughters of Jamie and Gwen Bruce, who collected $800, Doug and Angie Kolb family, who collected $250, and Mary Louise Kempker, who collected $227. Winners of our two raffle prizes were Aaron and Sarah Weeks family, who won 10 pool passes for the Memorial Park Family Aquatic Center, and Drew Boessen, who won the YMCA Rock Climbing Wall party for 12. Thank you, St. Stanislaus and St. Margaret’s parishes and local communities, who donated or participated in any way! May God bless you for your continued support of the unborn!

Volunteers needed
Two of our wonderful volunteers that do Box Tops and Best Choice labels are “graduating” that is their children are graduating from 8th grade!
· Amy Steinman has been doing Box Tops, and Stacey Heislen has generously offered to take over that job. Thank you Amy for your work on this, and thank you, Stacey, for taking over this job!
· Angie Bisges has been doing Best Choice labels for a few years, and since her son is graduating, someone is needed to take over that job. Angie has agreed to train the person who takes this over. Thank you, Angie, for your years of service to our school!
Also needed are volunteers to box up the cartridges for recycling. The six grade homeroom has been doing this for some time. Ideally, this job needs several volunteers to make light work of it. Cartridges need to be boxed up about once a month.
If interested in volunteering, please contact the office, 636-7802, so we can get things set up for next year. Thank you and happy spring!

Coke Rewards
Help make great things happen at St. Stan by turning in Coca-Cola products. Look for the special code in the boxes or bottle cap of any Coca-Cola product. Each code you bring in earns rewards like sports equipment that will help our students learn, play, and have fun.
