SOCIAL STUDIES
In seventh grade social studies we are continuing to work on our documents related to the Hajj of Mansa Musa. Students will create a journal entry for each document based on the persona they have created for themselves. It has been exciting to see students get creative with this project. You will be able to find the documents and directions on Canvas.
Ms. Nuhanovic and I are really excited to be hosting an extension around the documentary 13th. Students that were interested in learning about civil rights and mass incarceration after the abolition of slavery, signed up and will need to have signed permission from a parent to be a part of the class and discussions.
GENERAL MATH
Equations, expressions, and inequalities have been our focus for the last couple of months. We have spent the last few class periods reviewing material covered in early January, but we are back on track and diving back into inequalities. (less than, greater than, or equal to) My hope is that we will be ready to assess by the end of next week.
ADVANCED MATH
Angles, triangles, polygons, convex, concave…so many vocabulary words! Our current unit over angles and triangles has been a lot of fun for the students and myself. I am feeling really good about students grasping the material and look forward to seeing how well they do on the unit assessment. We will hopefully be assessing next week and starting March with a new unit.
Just a reminder that students have access to ixl.com, an online math program, that they can be working on at home. 😊
