Directions
2. Students stand and pair up.
3. Partner A reads the question to partner B. Partner B answers. Partner A praises if correct or coaches if incorrect.
4. They switch roles and partner B asks Partner A the question on their paper. Partner B praises if correct or coaches if incorrect.
5. After thanking one another, they exchange papers and move on to another partner and follow steps 3-5 again and again until the educator stops them.
6. The educator walks around the room listening and noting the concepts, questions or words that students struggle with.
When to use
Strategy Variations
2. With vocabulary charades. Partners take turns acting out the vocabulary word and guessing. (can be a pre-taught TPR action)
3. With vocabulary Pictionary. Partners carry small whiteboards and markers with them. Partners take turns drawing the vocabulary and guessing.
4. Have the students create questions and answers.
5. To provide more structure when students find a partner you can use Kagan's "stand up/hands up/pair up" to help them find a partner. (Students stand up, put their hands up, mingle to find a pair - high five their partner, put their hands down)
